Addressing My "Rosters" This Year -- An Apology

I posted this over in beta but I felt my need to let you guys know what happened.

I feel like I've let a lot of people down by not having a set out this year, now that a set hasn't come out like I thought it would within the first week. I LOVE building rosters. It is something that strangely gives me a lot of fun, almost as much as the actual game, why I have no clue, I'm wired wrong perhaps.

I am feeling extremely frustrated, because I was told that a big crazy huge roster set was coming out, got down on my set personally, and did not continue because I thought it was completely pointless if there was another HUGE ginormous roster set out there, and in addition I was picking up a new job and figured I would reallocate my time. If I had known things would go down like this, I would have continued and had something for you guys. That is definitely my fault.

So no one needs to apologize to me or feel like they are hurting my feelings at all -- the net is just that, the 'net! I'm not going to take any hits personally -- I really do feel like I let a lot of people down this year whether I get paid to do this or not, because I promised that it would be out, and it wasn't. I was really excited about releasing an Opening Day set this year too. Apologies to Markus and battists as well, as that was one of my sole reasons of being on Beta in the first place.

I am trying to figure out a solution. If there is not another roster set coming out, I will be hitting my incomplete set HARD over the next few weeks to try and get you guys something put together.

That's all.

You're the man, Cubby! No need to apologize, any work you feel you have to do and any you've done in the past is appreciated more than you'll ever know. Guys like you who donate their time so that others can enjoy the game more are priceless! Thank you!

Yeah, you don't have to apologize for not doing something you don't get paid for!

No need to apologize at all. You're under no obligation to do what you do,so anytime you release a roster set to us,for FREE,I consider it a great act of kindness. Good luck on your set, looking forward to it!

I totally agree too....thanks for all that you have done in the past, and in the future, and thanks to AP and his roster team as well for all their work. Maybe that's the answer....maybe you can give them a hand, and it can be a win win. I'd be happy to help, but I know for sure that it's just not something I'm skilled at.

No apologies necessary.

Just an FYI - I imported your 2007beta roster into Icy's template (based on the thread from a few days back) and other than having to use fictional contracts it's working quite well.

Ross Gload is even hitting .300 for my Royals.

Who are mired in 4th place ahead of the terrible Tigers.

No apologies necessary. Anyone who takes the time to do add a roster, photos, utilities or any other mod is a plus to the OOTP universe. If things come up where you are unable to fulfill on a mod or anything else, then it is understood.

This is really on SI. They can't officially participate, but they need to ensure that it's available.

Even if there is another set. I always like having more than one. Each set will include different prospects and have a great variety in player ratings. It does the community good to have AT LEAST two sets.

I've used your rosters in the past and would have liked another one from you for '07. But, don't beat yourself up when you didn't do anything wrong.

It's a shame that there are not rosters available at launch.

It has somewhat curved my enthusiasm for this years release. I'll try my hand at creating a set in the future when I get more time, I work in publishing and am trying frantically to finish an upcoming release, so it will need to wait until after that. I will be proably create a set from the 80's or 90's, nothing modern day.

I'm sure they could if they wanted to. Happens all the time in the "business world".

A handshake here, some cash under a table there, wallah - they get things done.

I was referring to the fact that this "really is on SI."

They put out a baseball game that does not advertise that it comes with real rosters.

A restraining oder here, a subpoena order there, viola!-and OOTP is dead, that's how things get done, too. Then, to pay his bills, Markus goes off to sell life insurance.

Hey easy on life insurance sales. Us financial advisors tend to use a bit of life insurance for our clients
