Signing extensions for other teams through the trade screen

I was shopping around for a reliever to shore up my staff going into the last month and a half of the season, and while talking to Oklahoma City I noticed that it had the "offer extension" button available on one of their player's screen. So I clicked and offered the extension he requested - lo and behold, he said "That's a good deal!" I didn't actually click the "Sign Extension" button to go through with it - being the nice guy I am, I decided the Sooners might want to do their own negotiations.

I'm guessing this is a bug - anyone else seen this?
