While I agree with very little of Sirhawk's criticisms of the game, I just want to commend him on the proper way to go about. You can tell that his concern is to make the game better.
Surprise it got responses too, see what happens when you are constructive!!! |

agreed. :2thumbsup:
Anyway, while it isn't exactly on-the-spot third base coach decision making, there is a slider in the strategy tendencies for baserunning aggressiveness. While this isn't necessarily a foolproof solution to making the baserunning decision on the fly, it does model how a manager might want to influence his on-field coaches to make these decisions. Perhaps cowboy3356 can look into that further.

which is the likely reason we haven't heard back from him in this thread.

I know I'm late to the party in this thread, but I've never played a baseball game on any platform going all the way back to Hardball on the Commodore 64 where you couldn't see your players' stats next to their name while you're setting up your lineup. It may be a design decision, but for people who play out all of their games, or those who play differently but just don't use depth charts, it's really aggravating.
This is exactly what three steps forward but two steps back means - the new features are good, but changing some obvious things like this makes you wonder. While features are decided on democratically in beta, once the game is released (at least in this and the last version, when I started posting to this board) there is outrage from players who don't feel like their interests or styles of play were fairly represented in those beta discussions. A lot of what I campaigned for after OOTP 2006 got put into this version, so I know we're being listened to, and I'm glad that anything brought up along these lines is seen as trying to make the game better. |

I thought the mouse over idea was a good one (though, you still couldn't see your entire lineup and their corresponding stats, which is the root of the issue), but a simple filter fixes this problem, and no one loses space, depth charts, or anything at all. Am I making this too easy? |

Meh, I still miss the old screen, but I'll likely get used to this screen (even if it is a bit awkward). Atleast that screen is still there when I thought it no longer was, all is forgiven then . To the other argument about seeing a player stats on the lineup screen....Im not sure what you talking about. I can see all of my players stats, ratings if I choose and any split I want. Or is the complain the stats arn't next to the guys name when he is in the lineup. If it is, I say thats just splitting hairs IMHO. |

dola, wouldn't sorting by ABs sort your starters towards the top of the screen?

They are highlighted in green, but if you have more than one lineup open, that could include more than just 8 players. And that still doesn't give it in the order of your lineup.

. What if half way through the season your guy with the 3rd most ABs goes down? What if you want to have lineups based on your Sept. call ups? What if sorting by AB's doesn't give you your actual lineup (i.e. your #4 hitter doesn't have as many ABs as your #7 because he walks a lot more)?

Alright, Im seeing your point now. I guess it something I never considered (I tend to do a lot of memory), but I can understand what you are trying to see now. |

Finally someone does! In all seriousness, it's not that big of a deal, but it just seems like a standard way to view a teams lineups. If it's not something that can be done any time soon, I'm not going to throw a fit. (Though I don't think I can say the same for some others around here......) |

Yea, I tend to only play one league, maybe 2 if Im playing online and I like to play out a lot of games and stare at my screens enough that I just tend to memorize my ratings and stats (what can I say, its a gift) but if somebody doesn't have the memorization skills, or they play multiple leagues at once, I can definately see how not being able to see your lineups stats could be annoying. |

Well I'm getting used to the vsLefty vsRight stats above the lineup/depth chart after nearly 72 hours of playing it that way now. It just seemed more streamlined before with 6.5a. That scroll bar auto defaulting to the top of the scroll is the biggest issue and pain to me now. Most especially when using the "shop player" feature and I get enough offers that I get a scroll bar. You try looking at 30 or 40 offers from that page and check each and every one out and see if you don't get annoyed and frustrated everytime you check one the scroll bar auto defaults to the top of the scroll/page everytime. You'll get to the point you won't even want to check out 1/2 of that page because it's just so annoying and frustrating to do this over n over. There's nothing I've found game breaking though. I've had this game running for 3 days straight now and no CTD's or any game glitches that appear major cept maybe the ghost players getting more playing time than my regular players in the minors when I only have a handful of each in each league. One thing I would like to see added is one pitch mode for sim games where you just watch instead of coach. As it is now I play on instant speed, but, still have to watch every single pitch like I was playing when it would be faster and more enjoyable for me if I could just have one pitch with the count in like before and not have to press the "continue or space bar or enter button". I like to watch the games play, but, I don't particularly like to have to press any buttons. I know I can speed play with instant innings, but, that defeats the purpose of "watching the sim" hands off to me.

Incidentally (and call this further splitting hairs if you will) the players in your lineup are not neon green, just the ones in your depth chart which took me by surprise when I first encountered that. So in a way, the solution a lot of you are suggesting (just look at the neon guys) makes you use depth charts anyway.

Well, each line-up has its own tab, so you could do them one at a time instead of all at once in the overview tab.
