OK, that'S what I wanted to get off my chest. Enjoy the game while I code the patch and try to get better!
Sorry to hear about your health issues, hope you are able to separate for a little bit and get your mojo back.

Can anyone else in the know perhaps comment on the little bit I quoted? How exactly will it be possible to do the CATO dump after the fact. Is it because the history is located in a different CSV? I'm a little ingnant of how it all works right now.

The way I THINK it will work is that the only thing being back populated is the information on teams and your retired players, which will build the leaderboards and such. Your current players will not be molested, err, touched...

Wow, I always thought programming video games for a living would be a stress reliever. I guess that just goes to show how much heart, soul, pain, sweat, and tears Markus puts into his work.

You've done a fantastic job, and never in a million years would you see this kind of attention and dedication from a lead developer on bigger and (much) worse baseball games (MLB 2k7, for one). Thanks for you hard work, and rest those eyes! Stop looking at code for a while!!!

I'm sure it is a relief when you're doing it for a few hours a day, but sixteen hours a day - eighty hours a week - doing any one thing is not healthy.

One other thing I wanted to say about this. I hope the boys at SI realize this franchise isn't OOTP. It' s Markus Heinsohn and without him you have a dead product.

So protect your most important asset.

Take a long vacation, Markus. Take your girlfriend to the south of France for a month. Get AWAY. Total separation from the stress is called for.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Good point. More to the point, Markus is MARKUS' most important asset. Take care of yourself, man.

If you're dead or disabled, nothing else matters.

Get well and good luck... we've got a great game thanks to your hard work.

I'll echo someone who said this earlier, I've been playing text based baseball sims since the mid-80's (literally all my life) and this is the best I've played.

So be proud of what you've done and don't think about it at all for a few months.

Shaun of PureSim had the same problem. So he basically just quit. After 30 years I'm kind of in the same boat with my job. I just sleep a lot and play OOTP. However, a long vacation always works best. At least two weeks!

Markus,

Health first, everything else second. Without your health you have nothing.

Good luck

Come to Florida, I'll take you to a few minor league games, maybe even a Dismal Rays game in the big Tank.

Seriously, get better, relax... you make a great product but your health is much more important!

Good Luck Markus, forget the game and get yourself well, you have a lifetime in front of you. I just want you to know that I had to take an early retirement due to serious health problems, and its your game that has helped me keep it together and fill the void. Thank You

Holy smokes. There can be no originality here at this point, just support in numbers, so I will just add my own best wishes for you to feel better soon.

I did want to emphasize again the comment quoted above, however. Take good care of yourself.

Ah, some originality. I agree with the group advising a clean break for awhile, rather than 'cutting back'. What's SI's disability plan?
