How to sim for hours?

I have tried a couple times to sim a historical league overnight, but each time I wake up, the computer (a laptop) has turned off and my league is back -- I presume -- at Jan. 1st after the last time it saved.

How do other people do this. Generally, simming isn't that tough for my machine (especially after f.montoya helped me out), but it seems like something is going wrong after some time.

As far as I can tell, my power settings are set to not turn anything -- the RAM, hard drive, monitor, etc -- off.

any advice? thanks in advance.

Still sounds like the laptop is shutting itself down for power saving to me. It might be a setting that you aren't seeing somewhere (maybe in BIOS).

I don't think it's just the screen, because my screen blanks out overnight, and that's not a problem. Sounds like it's shutting down the hard disk.

What kind of laptop is it?

that is the problem. He just needs to turn that stuff off and he will be able to sim for weeks with no break.

Control Panel, Display, Screen Saver and click "Power". Check and be sure it says "Never" when plugged in in both rows. This will keep the screen saver from coming on too.
