Face Gen Question

I'm really looking forward to this feature. I have a collection of team logo's that the very talented artists on this board have created for OOTP2006. If I use those team logo's, will FaceGen automatically create generic hat and uniform logo's for each team as well?

And if so, when is the best time to sync up team colors? I believe, in 2006, when you "create game" the software automatically creats logos, assigns team colors, etc. Can the colors be changed as part of a template build, or must that be done each time a new game is started, using that template?

Less than 100 hours now for those of us who pre-ordered!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure of the answer to the original question, although I think that it is "yes". I do have a follow up question.

For BM2006 I set up a couple of hundred logos with the baseball background as shown below. Do I need to rework all of these so they work with the uniform creator?

Probably, unless you want the baseballs to show up on the uniform

If I understand the process correctly, and Silvam would know better than me, you could use those on the uni's with some adjustments. Just set it up to be a patch. (right silvam?)

You mean a sleeve patch? I was just thinking that if you are goingto use the logos on the jersey, you could just use the logo without the baseball background

True, he could do it without the ball. I actually meant the chest patch (like the Yankees, Cubs, Reds, etc in Icy's thread).

The first thing that needs to clarified here is this: OOTP2007 has the option to have three logos for every team: the Team logo (which appears on all the interface banners, as in 2006), a Cap logo (which appears on your ballcap) and a Jersey logo (which appears on your uniform).

Those baseball-logos would probably work fine as-is for Team and/or Cap logos: both of those are square (150x150 still for team logos, and 64x64 for cap logos - OOTP will resize as necessary on its own). They will not work so well as Jersey logos, which are 140x100. At the least, you would want to take what you have and fit them onto a transparent 140x100 base so that they would position themselves properly on the jersey (you'd probably want them on to show up on one side of the jersey).

I'll keep the logos with the baseballs for the team pages and then the project will be to play with the logos for the hats and jerseys.

It's not like I just moved and need to set up a house or anything. That can wait for a few months.

How do you create a transparent base?

Most programs let you choose the b/g color when you create an image. I do this at the right dimensions, then copy/past my logo onto that trans background.

Thanks for the comments, Kai.

The above is the procedure which a majority of 'out of the box' users would prefer to also have automatically done, rather than elect not to use it. I hope this process is, indeed, added as an automated feature in the first patch. Why wouldn't the default be to utilize the chest patch idea? Or is the default configuration catered to modders, leaving the re-configuration to the non-modders? This seems backwards to me.

Ideally it would be nice to have just a "grid" to work on for logo creations then one would know which area to put the chest logo on or a team name location when it arches or slants. But if everything was so easy then the logo maker, uniform designers would not have much to do after the game comes out. I plan on playing around with my own creations but I guess that just makes me a geek - but seriously I am truly excited to see the FACEGEN option available for the game. I use to make all my own players and it would take about 5-10 minutes per player to create individually after creating the basic uniform, background and different poses ( I had left angle, right angle, straight view, plus different zooms of each view so that the players would not all look the same or similar, plus then I was able to use the same face with different hair and facial hair to get multiple players )
