Now that's what I call making hay while the sun shines...

We bale all our own hay* so I have never been in touch with prices. But $5.00 a bale

* Haven't worked in any serious fashion with my Dad and Uncle since 1994 (other than occasional weekends) but I still talk about it like I do. I miss our farm.

I owe you all an explanation about this.

Although it was discussed extensively in the moderators forum each step of the way, I am the one who ultimately banned Gforce this time (He was banned a while back as well).

Basically, he and some others started an off-topic political discussion here in this thread. I made a polite request to cease and take it to the appropriate forum (you can go back and look at those posts if you wish).

The others stopped, Greg decided to take one more jab anyway. I sent him a PM requesting that he self edit the post. He refused stating that something said by LL 'demanded' a response. When he refused to edit the post, I edited it and gave him a warning.

His response to the warning was to put the edited post in his signature. I gave him a second warning and 12 hours to self edit. He refused and sent me pleasant notes about getting my jollies from being a moderator among other things. The deadline came and went, he got a third warning and a short time line to finally comply. he didn't and he was banned.

If he returns he can give his own account and surely will. From my perspective, this recent incident was far from the worst thing that he has done around here but is indicative of the way Greg has never cared enough about the people in these forums to remain civil for any length of time. In the end, his anger and stubbornness are all that show through which is too bad because he is a smart and talented guy.

My buddy I bale our own too. The reason for the high prices was the dry summer we had last year in these parts and hay was scarce thus driving the prices up. Didn't need the stuff but couldn't pass on the price.

Down in the "Deep South" of Connecticut, there really aren't any farms, let alone enough open land for one. As for me - I have a hard enough time growing grass on my tiny 0.33 acre postage stamp lot. Maybe I'll just pave it over and paint the asphalt green.

At five bucks a bale, you might want to let it grow a bit this year. You should get three cuttings down there with a decent rain fall.

I just saw earlier in the week on some of GForce's posts he had banned below his user name and above his avatar.

Yep, I second that. Thanks, Chris. It's disappointing to lose such a long-standing member of our community, especially over something that seemed pretty minor when it first popped up. But from what you've said about Greg's attitude in relation to this issue, it looks like you had no choice.

Gforce was a major worry to begin with being allowed in the league. He was previously banned from the board for really hateful racist things. I'd hoped he had learned a lesson and although I've never had a problem with him I'm not surprised to see this happen.

Thanks for making the tough call Chris. This is the no fun part of being a moderator I'm sure, but I for one appreciate it.

The Beavers extend congrats to the 'Roos on a hard fought effort. This was a close one.

This week's Bald Beaver MVP will be announced shortly. Based on performance, you can probably guess who will win the award, but if you need a hint, let's just say he's a brother killer.

Week 4 MVP honors go to "The President," Ike Ibeabuchi (pictured) who scored impressive wins over Boxing Kangaroo's Baer brothers: an 11th round KO of Maxie and a 12 round UD over Buddy.
Matt,
Ike lost to Max by KO 11.
