****, there goes my first sweet 16 with Illinois. Love seeing VTech on a 12-0 run to end the game and win by 2.

Texas prevails after a tough game versus NMST, that could have been a major bracket buster.

Well, Jackson State gave the champs a half.
It's starting to get ugly now though. |

SIU 61 - Holy Cross 51, 28.8 seconds to go...
What a defensive slug-fest between two of the finest defensive teams in the nation. Looks like the Egyptian Dawgs will move on, though. I'm definitely a fan of Holy Cross though. Tough kids. Sad to see Clifford foul out (and the whistles were fast & furious this evening)

I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, but this was probably the least exciting first round that I can remember.
The only 2 double digit seeds that won were widely expected to anyway. |

Nova one and done. That's what happens when you don't make any shots and you get obliterated on the glass.
Oh well, lots to look forward to for them next year! |

Disappointing first round. No huge upsets (unless we're generous and count VCU over Duke). The good thing is that Duke (who I hate) and Illinois (who I despise for that comeback in 2005 - the worst game ever) are both out. Kansas is still in, though. Someone needs to get on that.
I'm still mad that North Carolina, Texas, and Ohio State are all on the same side of the bracket. I hoped they would all be in the Final Four. |

I just hope that the lack of upsets means more close games in the later rounds. I feel like when there are a lot of upsets early on, the later round games are blowouts because the lower seeds just can't keep up.

Not if you edit it...
In other news, Oden should've gotten a flagrant for that last foul.

Three dola bill,
I'll bet Xavier crumbles in OT. They've gotta be heartbroken.
