Interested in a Daily Sim League? Check out the MBLS

The Metropolitan Baseball League System (MBLS) is looking to fill some vacancies. Founded by Gotham City owner Joe Cesarano in 1993, the league has used versions of OOTP to run daily sims during the season since 2002. In the coming season, we will be using OOTP6.5. While some might not enjoy the pace of 1-real-life-day = 1-OOTP-day, the league has a loyal group of owners who love the format - maybe you would too!

Why join the MBLS?
The Met Leagues offer several features that make it unique from most other OOTP leagues:
  • Owners have the option of playing out their home games and emailing the game file to the league office. No more worrying about how the computer AI is going to juggle your bullpen.
  • Winter baseball - MBLS teams have a Latin America equivilent to send major and minor league players who need some additional seasoning in the offseason.
  • Affiliated fantasy leagues and contests - earn Metros, convertible to fantasy cash, by competing in NBA/MLB/NFL/NHL prediction contests, as well as other fantasy games.
  • The pace of the season means you never have to worry about making quick decisions to beat the trading deadline, for example. The 30-day free agency period also takes place over two weeks in the offseason.
Interested? Learn more about the league at http://metleagues.com/node/87 . If you like what you see, fill out the questionaire at http://mbls.metleagues.com/questionnaire.htm .

Probably have better luck posting this in the OOTP 6.5 Forum.

So....Are you going to update to 2007? That is the only way I would think of playing an online league. Never done it before, but if it was at a daily pace, I think it would be fun and easy to manage.

Unfortunately, 2007 is not going to feature the ability to import individually played games into the league file, so the MBLS is going to stay with 6.51 for the '07 season. We're crossing our fingers that this function will be re-introduced in OOTP2008.
