What a great first season! I've simmed all the way until the world series and there were some great stories this inagural season. I decided to switch formats and go without divisions. Still twenty teams in two leagues, but after some advice from Dreamteam and others I decided to make the pennant races really count. If you win your league you go to the dance, if not then you go home. The Federal league was won easily by the New York Knights. In the Continental league, however, the Phoenix Rhinos had a tight race against the Los Angeles Cobras. With four games left in the season they were up by two over Los Angeles and wouldn't you know it, their final four games were against the Cobras! Los Angeles took the first two games to pull even with the Rhinos. Phoenix exploded for ten runs in the third game and won the final game two to one to capture the pennant. Los Angeles will not soon forget this heartbreaking defeat. I think we have the first rivalry brewing in Great Escape Baseball!

The first ever world series, in Great Escape Baseball, is between the New York Knights and the Phoenix Cobras. What makes this matchup really exciting is the fact that New york has the leagues best pitching and Phoenix is the best hitting ballclub. You can't ask for more drama then that! Will great pitching beat great hitting, we'll know soon enough. After I play out this epic battle, I'll update the website and post here so everyone can have a look. Thanks for reading

New York sweeps Phoenix and wins the first Great Escape Baseball world series! I'm uploading the first season's html repots now. They should be up in a few minutes. You'll notice that my league is light on hitting, which is fine because I don't want stats compared to major league baseball. I want Great Escape to develop its own character. Thanks for reading
