Which is more admirable

Which of these takes more skill? As a man of experience I have to hand it to Doc Ellis. He didn't run into the stands thinking the ball would eat him.

Definately Ellis. Imagine the poor guys terror as the catcher threw the ball back to him after every pitch.

Both of these stories sound like tall tales. Ellis's is more colorful so I vote for his.

Imagine being the centre of 50,000 fans attention on squares. I'd be be running off the field screaming and tearing out my hair.

The only impressive thing about the fat tub of goo in pinstripes is that he hasn't eaten himself to death yet.

I get a chuckle, much like the Dock Ellis story, when people refer to HR as hollyroller. I often forget whether it is Doc or Dock Ellis as both Ellis and Doc Medich pitched for my Rangers in the mid-70s.

Admirable? As in admire? A drunk or a dope addict? Admirable might not be the word for these situaitions.

Think about this....how many other times did they pitch under those conditions, and didn't tell anyone. Or the other countless conditions other players are playing under....Doc's is more impressive.
