Still at work, sorry. I'll be home in the next couple hours and hopefully giving my input shortly thereafter. Of course, if the game is too good I won't be on the forums until tomorrow.

Some like it, some hate it, some are finding bugs, some are making mods.
Generic, but true. |

I think it's more towards the favorable side. I didn't play much 2006 (couldn't get into it) but am loving 2007. Oddly, I think a lot aren't utilizing the preview forum as much as they could.

As someone who hardly touched OOTP2006, I'm having trouble ripping myself away from 2007. I love it so far, I haven't gotten to the nitty gritty yet, but the game is a lot easier to get into.

We're listening.. ![]() As a side note - are testers allowed to post screenshots or reports? That would be much appeciated...I'd personally love to see some fictional team statistics to see how the engine's working...Or a player's history/statistics. Last edited by ms2002; 03-05-2007 at 06:17 PM. |

Only been in the game for an hour so far, guys, so it's difficult to post anything other than first impressions, but I like what I see. Seems to be a little issue for me with FaceGen (probably did something wrong) but the potential is great! I used the league creation wizard for a fictional team - took about 8 minutes WITH Facegen creation (biggest amount of time). Going to go a bit further and come back later.... |

This amuses me. I am specifically told no screenshots. That is not stopping others not operating under the NDA.

Haven't been able to spend much time yet other than a couple of things.
I do know that a 32 team league (full minors) with 30 years in, took 13 minutes, 19 seconds to sim from Jan 1 to Jan 1 on this machine in OOTP2006. Same league from same point in 2007 took 10 minutes, 19 seconds. Only a three minute difference, but 'felt' faster, didn't seem to bog down as long. |

Since there is no NDA then ALL is fair game.
Post, post and post some more. |

much better than 07, but i am not sold.(yet????) i don't like the browser/spreadsheet feel and that is probably most of my issue. navigation is much improved, but still clumsy and still way to easy to find yourself lost. But the new manager homepage makes for a quick and easy reset, reducing much of the frustration level.
if you are setting up a fairly basic league, the wizard is awsome! and it can help some in more complicated leagues, but i still find it tedious and far to easy to miss an important setting and screw up your whole project. but other than that it works great. if you were OK with set-up in 06, 07 will be a wet dream. I'm not a stathead, so others will have to dive into that part. If i can get past every damn page being either looking like website HTML page (sorry, if i wanted to play an internet game i'd play an internet game) or a damn excel spreadsheet. the game would great. i can play it long enough now to eventually learn the navigation quirks. if i can just get past the feel. on the other hand, it would be a great platform for a 2007 version (not converting, a 2nd) of Corporate League Baseball........ maybe I'll just commish

How did you ever get over 1000 posts on a game that has always been described by some as playing with excel? HTML only enhances the look and flexibility... not sure what you are looking for.

The game is incredible so far. I am a little flustered though. This five days thing is playing mental games on me. It's like sending an 8 year old into Toys R Us and telling him he has five minutes to play with all the toys and then he's done. |

I also disagree with the fact that the game "feels" like a spreadsheet. Sure, the stats/ratings are displayed in a spread sheet format, but how else can you display it? The HTML reports are displayed as webpages, because that's what they are.
I have never understood why people have trouble with the 06 interface, I love how much is available to me and how much information I can access. It is really hard to take that many options and that much information and make it "easy" to navigate through. There is going to have to be some clicking, and some searching, but I find that the learning curve seems to only be a short time, and then your up and running. |

I think 2007 has taken some nice "fine tuning" steps, but the game has not gotten fundamentally less complex. Therefore, there will still be a learning curve issue, and some people may just never learn to like the new interface. Steve |
