I've heard there are some serious issues with the Franchise mode in MLB2k7, but that otherwise it is blowing people away visually and gameplay wise. Has anyone here who has the game had any seriously noticeable franchise issues yet? If not, I may have to purchase it.

I haven't came across any MAJOR issues with MLB2k7 - however - I do think the franchise play is very thin compared to OOTP. Not much depth and not great AI.

Have you played much franchise at all? What are your overall impressions of the game?

I've been playing MLB 07 The Show for two days and have seen no problems in its franchise mode. The franchise play is thin but, wow, the manage-only mode rocks the house.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

I have both MLB 2k7 for the 360 and MLB The Show for the ps2.. I'm such a baseball junkie.

The Show plays a more well rounded game of baseball, but wow, does MLB 2k7 look beautiful!

As a realism freak, the console arcade games generally don't do it for me. The old High Heat games were the only games I could really get into. Games like 2K7 are, in general, geared mainly towards people who just want to have a fun baseball gaming experience and have no significant regard towards depth or statistical accuracy. The developers on those games care more about producing realistic sweat and developing as many leaping catching animations as possible than, say, calculating realistic pitch count and walk numbers. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, that's probably a smart business decision on their part, as that will attract more people than anything else. But as someone who loves realism and statistics, it will always be OOTP for me.

I'm loving the Road to the Show mode in the PSP version of MLB the show 07, it's ITP with graphics.

My take is that if I want to play out a fun single game of baseball, or even a whole season, I go for MLB2K7. If I want to play as a GM and build a franchise, or manage a game, OOTP is what I rely on. Two completely different games that can't really be compared. All they have in common is that they are baseball games.

You have to be a Gold member, it should be available to Silver members in a few weeks.

Adjust the sliders. I'm getting very realistic pitch counts (last night I had 75 through 5 innings w/ Felix Hernandez, including 6 ks and 2 BBs - at the same time, the the CPU had 63 through 5 innings while walking me 3 times).

But on the whole, I agree with you. If I'm looking for good statistics produced over several years, I'll play OOTP every time. However, 2k7 really does play a great game of baseball. The atmosphere is perfect. The franchise bugs don't bother me as I can't stand to play franchise on a console after discovering OOTP, so the fact that it plays such a good game of baseball was enough to get me to buy it.
