Quoted from the first paragraph, third blog...

The difference is that players drafted in the later rounds have some probability of making an impact in the big leagues.

That, alone, just sold the game to me if I wasn't sold already. Heck, I'll pay for a second copy to install on my uber-gaming-rig when it's finished. Um... yay.

Completely agree. The fact that I can make a decision on a draftee in the late rounds that will pay off with him becoming a stud is an amazing addition.

Not trying to stop a sale for SI, but you do get 2 licenses when you buy the game, so you can have it on two computers that YOU control.

That is right. However, giving the second license to your buddy is illegal!

"I have to go and watch Holly “Sweet Feet” Johnson score some goals this morning, but I am liking what I see so far in Out of the Park Baseball 2007. A lot. So much so that I think Sports Interactive should refund every OOTPB 2006 owner the full price of that premature release."

A lot of people on the boards were saying this and being shouted down last year, and now it's presented as good news for SI?

(this was sarcastic...I know that no refund was suggested in earnest by the reviewer and just wanted to point out that it's an odd marketing tool to post this review in a forum full of people who were disappointed in paying for OOTP 2006 and were told that all sales were final)

probably because the above quote isn't actually suggesting a refund, but using it to embellish how much of an improvement this version is.

That makes me feel better. That line really annoyed me I sometimes think I am the only one who still likes OOTP2006 ... warts and all.

Yep, you are...I think the majority of the fan boys calmed down after Markus himself admitted mistakes. The new version really seems to kick butt. I think that the blog sums thinks up nicely.

No, he's not. IT depended, last year, on what type of playing method you liked. If you liked fictional, OOTP2006 was miles ahead of OOTP6.x, warts and all.

And if you were a historical gamer it wasn't, and the warts were monstrous and overwhelming. Hopefully the release of 2007 will make everything right again.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

And I don't deny that. Just saying that there were two groups last year: one quite happy with all the customizability, the other not happy with the historical aspects.
