Ability to Import Games in OOTP2007?

One of the features that I missed in OOTP2006 was the ability for individual games to be exported once they are played, then emailed to the commissioner to be imported into the league file before the rest of the day's games were simmed. This allowed online leagues that run a 1-real-life-day=1-sim-day format to permit owners to play out their games in person should they choose.

It appears that many OOTP6.5 features that were lost in the OOTP2006 transition will reappear in this year's version. Does anyone know if individual game imports will be one of those?

No. Only a couple of leagues ever used that, and it is a massive amount of work. So it's just not worth it right now...

How about a save and restore game feature?

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

Sorry to hear it

Truly sorry to hear that, Markus.

The MBLS is one of those very few leagues that offers owners a real-time daily sim and the ability to play out their own home games. The feature is so popular, in fact, that it's the main reason many of our old-timers stick around.

OOTP 2007 sounds great - and we'll definitely recommend it to our owners who have their own solo leagues. The MBLS could benefit immensely from the extra features offered in OOTP 2007, particularly since we'll be setting up international and feeder leagues. But unfortunately, given the popularity of the home game play-out feature, we'll need to stick to version 6 for now.

The question I have is who did you ask to gather this information? I have been playing OOTP since v4 and continue to play OOTP6.5 because this feature was taken out in 2006. I have been VERY active on this board and this community since OOTP5 and have not once heard any question about who used that feature.

Matter of fact I asked for a poll to be taken and have been watching for one to show up. Everybody I personally know uses the export/import game feature and honestly without it you have nothing but a single player game.

The fun of playing a baseball simulation is actually "playing" a baseball simulation.

If there were a poll and it showed that people as a whole were not interested in this feature than I would shut up, but until a poll is run you CANNOT say that only a few people used the feature!
