I agree with you. I'm sure Curley is thanking the virtual gods that he gets to fight Whistler instead of having to deal with Jem Driscoll.

How long do you think it'll take for the FLYs to fill out to a good number?

Depends on how many I make. There are 28 right now and only 14 more in my current db scheduled to join before 1920. I usually like at least 4 to join each year, so I will probably make at least that.

10 Friday and Saturdays this month. 60 fights on fight cards. There were a total of 113 left after TC fights. So I ran 53 fights through the autoscheduler.

First card was this fought this morning, results later but it was a good fight card with Billy Smith vs. Bartley Connolly, James Jeffries vs. John L. Sullivan, and a WBA HW title fight between Sam Langford and Peter Jackson.

Good card starts off December

December 1, 1911

HW - In October of 1910, Sam Langford (31-6-2) made his first defense of the title and had to settle for a draw, this time he left no doubt with a TKO9 win over Peter Jackson (2/2) (37-8-2). This was only for the WBA title belt and it was Langford's 5th defense of it.

It was a close fight with a lot of rounds that could've gone either way. So it looked as though we were headed for another draw. Langford dropped Jackson early in the 9th, cut him over his right eye, then dropped him again. He made it to his feet but after a couple of more seconds, the ref stopped it.

I had Langford up 78-74 at the stoppage.

Other fights

HW - John L. Sullivan (28/20) (39-9) continued his mastery of James Jeffries (15/23) (42-12) with a UD10. It was the third time Sullivan has beaten Jeffries.

Sullivan won 6 of the first 7 rounds then held onto win the fight as Jeffries came storming back and even knocked John L. down in the 10th. I had it 95-94 , the official judges had it 97-92??/96-93/96-93.

WW - Billy Smith (25/17) (21-5-1) scored a UD10 over Bartley Connolly (10/12) (20-4-2) yet some how didn't move ahead of him in the rankings.

Connolly almost won the fight early, knocking Smith down in the first and then scoring 30 on him in the second. Smith then settled down and won the rest of the rounds. I had it 97-91, the official judges had it 98-90/95-94/96-92. A little unsure of the 98-90 score considering he scored the first round 10-8 and the second in favor of Smith despite Smith being outscored 30-12.

BW - Owen Moran (11/10) (33-7-6) DQ3 Joe Bertrand (29/34) (16-5-3) (Bertrand at pre)

HW - Nick Burley (58/37) (21-11-1) KO6 Frank Slavin (32/48) (29-17-1)

WW - Al Neill (27/22) (11-11-4) Tech9 Charles Gleason (33/40) (15-4) (Gleason at pre)

McCarthy wins first IBO title

December 2, 1911

Main Event

MW - Frank Klaus (CH) (24-6-1) survived a first round knockdown to win a TKO8 over Jack McGee (15/20) (16-4) for his 8th defense of the WBA title which he has held since September of 1909.

Klaus routinely goes down. This is the 25th time he has been down in his career including the 6 knockdown win over Bob Turnball. He always gets up though. He cut McGee over the right eye in the 4th and the cut just kept getting worse until the fight was stopped in the 8th.

I had it 67-66 Klaus at the stoppage.

Title Fight

FW - Cal McCarthy (5/3) (22-6) (USBA) won the first ever IBO title with a TKO12 over Patsy Kline (21/25) (12-7-2) (CBU). The IBO title is only fought for in December and it matches the two best regional champs. Loser keeps his regional title.

McCarthy dominated the fight and won every round. Eventually the swelling of Kline's left eye stopped the fight. I had it 110-98 at the stoppage.

Other fights

HW - Sailor Burke (10/5) (16-0) remained unbeaten with a MD10 over Jerold Black (55/71) (13-7). Burke controlled the fight but there were several close rounds. I had it 99-95, while the official scores were 98-94x2 and 96-96.

MW - Gus Christie (UR) (5-0-1) remained unbeaten with a TKO1 over Dick Sandall (club) (14-27-2). Christie jumped all over Sandall and stopped the fight with no cuts or knockdowns.

BW - Casper Leon (59/59) (18-19-6) DRAW10 Watty Austin (29/29) (17-14-4) (Leon at post)

LW - William Parker (38/30) (13-1-2) KO9 Joe Heiser (86/89) (11-7-1) (both at pre)

Great win for Langford, the man is on a heck of a roll. It looks like you had a couple of drunk judges on this card.

I agree ... the feature I currently want most in the next version of the game is for the user to be able to be one of the judges. Just needs to pop up at the end of the round and allow us to put our score in, then it will tally at the end of the fight.

I'd be one of the three judges on every fight that I watch.

December 8, 1911

Main Event

LW - Willie Fitzgerald (9/6) (21-1-3) (CBU) won the new IBO title by scoring a MD12 over Kid Fredericks (13/15) (16-1) (USBA) (pre). This was Fitzgerald's 16th straight win and stopped Fredericks 16 win streak.

Fredericks led most of the fight before being dropped in the 10th. He was cut under the right eye in the first but it didn't really bother him the rest of the fight. Fitzgerald rallied to drop Kid in the 10th and win the 11th.

I had it closer than the official judges at 114-113 for Fitzgerald. The official judges had it 115-112/114-114/116-111.

Regional Title

FLY - First Flyweight regional title was for the CBU title. Jimmy Wilde (UR) (10-0) (pre) cruised to an easy TKO7 over Dai Roberts (UR) (5-1-1) (pre).

Wilde won every round and cut Robert's right eye, swelled it up and then knocked him down in the 6th. I had it 60-53 at the stoppage.

Other fights

HW - Harry Wills (UR) (7-0) (pre) remained undefeated with a UD8 over Watt Adams (club) (5-15-3) (pre). Wills controlled the whole fight cutting Adams in the 7th and knocking him down in the 8th. Only the 5th time Adams has been down so no shame in not taking him out. I had it 80-71 as did all three judges.

WW - Albert Badoud (UR) (11-0) (pre) remained undefeated with a UD10 over Billy West (68/71) (7-8-3) (pre). Badoud dominated the fight knocking West down 3 times. I had it 99-88 as did all three judges.

WW - Joe Gans (3/3) (36-5-3) TKO9 Cy Flynn (78/79) (11-13-2)

LW - Charley White (46/34) (17-10-3) UD10 Sammy Smith (56/66) (15-7-1)

Yeah Wilde is gonna rule .. he just crushed a 6 rated fighter in that fight. Gonna be like Ali in the 60's edition.
