Play or Sim?

I play a 40 game season. I play/ manage 75% of the games. I am curious if the majority of the folks are simulating games and playing GM or if managing games is more popular.

I don't have OOTP5 yet, but I almost certainly will plan on simming almost all the games. I guess I do not have the patience to play them out.

I sim most games. However when playoff time comes around I usually like to micro-manage every aspect of the team, which includes playing every game.

I also like to play certaing key games throughout the season, or watch the game in the in-game module. Those certain games would be division rivals, regional rivals, etc.

I play most of mine out, I get into it more if I do.

Im with steve. At first, I simmed them all out cause I converted from baseball mogul and was conditioned to just sim. Then I started playing more games and now play almost all of them. Gets me really involved with my team

I like to play most of my games and then sim occasionally or run two different leagues one with all playing and one with all simming.

I just don't get into just simming....

Its like this, Mogul is sim only, right. I always liked the game but the feeling I got of my players felt distant, I can't explain it anyway other than a piece of meat, resources in strategy game.

In OOTP, I get into my team, my players careers, and because I'm playing out all the games, even have who my rivals are, which pitcher seems to dominate certain batters on my team, or vice versa. Its great.

If I just wanted to build alot of history or alot of stats than simming would be good for me, but I want, and get more than that. But thats just me.

I strongly suggest playing the games out. I play a shortened season so it goes faster. I get more involved with rooting for individual players to do well when you see them "play everyday".

I sim week by week, (or until injury which I keep at very low), at end of the week I review rosters, make any roster changes, check mail, read all the league news for the week, then sim the next week. Last few weeks of the season I start managing games if in a tight pennant race, and play all Playoff games. Also play last couple games of season if I have a player on verge of a nice milestone for the season.

I'm about 50-50, but I am 100% play/manage come postseason- unless I'm running the Tigers, which turns out to be a 0% sim or play for October.

They sure do stink- but I love 'em anyways!!

Depends on my goal. If it is an historical sim I am doing, I will sim all games. If I am taking a team to try and build it up or maintain it, I will play games out. Both ways have their plusses and minuses to me.

I sim....For some reason it always seems like the Sim and Play engines are different....I always get weird results when I play the games out.

I used to play all my games. Now I sim them all. It's a personal choice I guess.

I like to sim a bunch of seasons to start. I want to build a history in my league before I jump into it.

Whoever said that they have one league for playing and another for simming... yeah, I do that too.
