After my discussion with UK, I was wondering what team(s) have the worst fans in Europe? I know that Spain has the racists etc, but are there particular teams that are recognised as having issues?

England at the moment is quiet as most teams have away game season tickets which means fans have to be registered to attend away games and the last thing an hooligan want's is to be registered on a database somewhere, not being biased but if you want to read a book about hooligans that is half way near the truth you should read "Celtic Soccer Crew" most books on hooligans are glorified Hollywood type books were they win every fight and take it from me it isn't like that. Dvd wise your probably looking at a film called The Firm as the closest you'd get on film, don't bother with Green Street it's an ok film but very Hollywood as if an American tried to run with the West Ham hooligans after being in the country only 5 minutes he'd be introduced to Mr Stanley. |

Frustration, Barca aren't the team that people think they are, if it weren't for Larsson they would never have won last year's Champions League and are made to look good in La Liga because Madrid are pretty much in the same boat. At this moment in time I don't think there's a clear cut quality team in Europe, if not for the injuries and Abramovich making Jose buy Schevchenko then Chelsea would be miles in front of everyone else. |

Came to two conclusions from last nights Watford v Wigan game, Watford are total crap if they stay up it will be a miracle they were out played by Wigan who played most of the game with 10 men, secondly looks like Wigan will be playing against 12 men for the rest of the season due to Paul Jewell being honest about Dowd as last night it was never a sending off.

The thread doesn't seem to have the pull that it used to so this wont get much discussion but the Tevez and Mascherano saga drags on as this week it's reported that Liverpool paid £1,500,000 for Mascherano, isn't this the same Mascherano who was worth millions just a few months ago. Also who does the money go to and do Liverpool actually own him now.
West Ham are also reported to be taking legal actions against Terry Brown (ex Chairman) and Paul Aldridge (ex Managing Director) for their part in the deal, this surprises me as West Ham could have points taken away from them if the Mascherano/Tevez deal is found to be dodgy so aren't West Ham by taking legal action against ex board members actually admiting guilt that the deal was dodgy. |

Something needs to be done at Leigh or I can see them going out of business, reason being Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers are lowering their ticket prices this season and next season so Leigh will charge £10 but Wigan and Bolton will only charge £15 so people will pay that little bit extra to go watch a better quality of game.

I'm the same. I'd never remember to watch all the episodes - especially as it is tucked away on ITV4. If it ever goes to DVD I might pick it up, but from the few minutes I did catch in tonight's showing it looks a bit too staged. Now I realise the football isn't the main part of the show, but it just felt "too right" if you see what I mean.

Its hard to write sports drama because its the spontaneity of it all that we love. Whats amazing and exciting watching live is staged in a dramatic context. Maybe thats why there really havent been any succesful sports dramas..as far as I know.

I think the lowest a premiership team gets next season even if they finish bottom will be £40 million, that's not including something like £200,000 everytime they get shown live plus using Wigan as an example they will get around £300,000 in gate reciepts per game then there's merchandise, cup runs, live cup game payments and so on so your talking about £50-60 million easily. |
