Unique fictional league seeks two owners

I'm a long-standing commish (four real life years- since ootp4) looking for a few owners for my OOTP6.5 fictional league. Everyone who's been in my leagues knows that I run a very tight ship-- I sim like clockwork, and if I'm about to miss something, you know ahead of time. The league is tough- rebuilds fail, contending teams falter, surprise teams can win. Finally, I've set up the rules for FA to be vibrant, and for the league to be damn competitive.

I feel CPL is unique for a few reasons:

1. People regularly write good articles, not just press releases. In addition, I've started providing summaries of every sim- the major moves, injuries, and happenings.

2. We are a fictional league, but I simmed over 100 years of history. That means we have meaningful historical comparisons, great arguements about the HOF, etc. despite only having been in existence for 8 seasons.

3. We sim a small number of games, but we sim every weekday. You don't have to stay on top of your team every single day of the week, but if you're a control freak, you can.

4. We have a fixed finances system. You make 70 million bucks a year, no matter what. You can only spend 70 million bucks a year, no matter what. And you can't accumulate any cash.

5. You can only resign guys who want to resign with your team. Combined with 4 above, this means that it's really hard to have a dynasty, and it's comparatively easy to rebuild, because FA is vibrant. It also means no one really tanks. This itself is highly unusual for a veteran league.

6. I don't own a team to be able to spend more time on the league. Should there be vacant teams though, I take over, so there's no 'dead' teams floating around.

I have a very quick boot for owners that I see as being lazy or bad, and as a result, the current owners are all top notch. But it also means I tend to have more openings than other leagues do. If interested, please send your email addy, AIM name, a reference (commish of a league you're already in) and team preference to sh.misra@gmail.com. We'll be starting the offseason in about a week.

Open Teams:
Philadelphia Phillies
New York Yankees

I basically take the team that none of the new owners want

Best league and commish I've seen in the 4 leagues I've been it over the past 3 and a half years. See most of the above reasons but also most of the current owners are ultra dedicated and the league is very healthy. The commish is very experienced and the league will be around for a long long time. A great league!!

CPL is a great league, and the finances/resigning rules do a VERY good job of limiting dynasties (which IMO is the biggest drawback to long running leagues)...

Doug is a great commish, sims are like clock work, and if I do say so myself, the site is damn sexy...

I will agree the sims are like clockwork, but in regards to being damn sexy will have to pass on that. Those obnoxious Pirates at work obviously, but a very good league.

Ghost,
Nice job taking over my CPL Cubs. Good luck in the World Series.

As a former owner, I can say that if you join just ONE league this winter, let it be my WPBL (http://wpbl.wsibl.net/ LA(N) and CHI(N) open). BUT, if you join TWO leagues this winter, join the CPL too!!

Thanks Tito, it has been a fun year. I recommend this league more than some others due to my busy schedule. The sims happen when they are supposed to and the Commish is a good guy. The league is competitive with experienced owners. Sign up today!

It was nice to get to work after 9am each day and have the sim done and files updated.

Thanks for the nice words everyone!

A bunch of our owners really love the '5 games every weekday morning' format... check in with what happened during your morning at work

The Cubs have a 2-1 game lead in the WS after escaping a very close game 3 (the winning run was blasted to left field, but alas, fell just short of the wall for the final out of gm 3). Rest of the WS Monday, then we head into the offseason next Wednesday (hint: now would be a great time to get on board!)
