We all have randomized rosters. So, you may or may not.

I predict that the Red Sox dominate beantown so much that the Braves are forced to move someplace in the boonies.....like Milwaukee...or Sheboygan.

If Heinz posts and says he still wants the Giants, I'll take the A's.

Nah, it's cool. I have the Giants in PBRL, so it'll be cool to mix it up and take an AL team here. Thanks though Yoda.

So, is this all set?

There was a post mentioning a start date of 2/19.

Yes - I'm prepping the announcement right now. Some interesting players sprinkled around too.

Stay tuned...

I PM'd the GMs (and yes, the A's are still available - as a worst-case scenario I will manage the team myself, but would rather not as I have the debut schedule and so can see who's coming up - don't need the temptation...) with the league file link.

I've also posted the HTML pages for the league - those interested can view it here.

Off the top of my head, here are some of the players who randomly popped up in 1901 (many of them mid-to-late career, but some as rookies or youngsters):

Sandy Koufax
Joe DiMaggio
Frank Robinson
Jim Rice
Lou Whitaker
Mike Scott
Greg Luzinski
Billy Williams
Ty Cobb
Willie Stargell
Jesse Orosco
Ellis Burks
John Kruk
Deion Sanders
Fred Tenney
Gene Richards
Mark Wohlers
Larry Dierker
Nick Johnson
Eric Gagne
Dan Driessen
Irish Meusel
Orel Hershiser
Joe Tinker
Jimmy Key
Terry Pendleton
Joe Niekro
Bill Virdon
Arky Vaughan
Joe Charboneau
Ron Darling

and many more, obviously. One note: since relievers were rarely used in the deadball era, I converted guys like Gagne and Orosco to starters, using their relief workload to fudge a starter-length endurance rating for them. So expect to see these guys starting games (though Gagne drew 2006 and so I injured him).

Games will begin on Monday and it'll be fast & furious.

Way cool, and just because:

1. I do not like Mr Anson personally
2. I wanna make the first trade

1B Cap Anson can be had for a comparable aged/talented pitcher.....

You might want to pick up a catcher if you deal Cap - he's your backup receiver and you only have one other (I think).

Hmm - okay, then I guess he can play. I swear I injured him, but I guess I'm wrong.

Yeah I meant to mention that Anson would cost a comparable SP AND a backup catcher.............

With the Beaneaters park this will definitely be a pitching oriented team...

I have nobody. BOO!

I don't even think I have someone with a talent over 6 so either my team really sucks or I need to get used to the talents in this league. Probably both.

Same here thin on pitchers and a few catchers. If anyone interested my most expedable batter is Johnny Rizzo 3B and all OF positions 28 years old. Will trade him for a comp. pitcher.

I have Milwaukee. I have lots of outfielders (Max Carey and Eddie Stroud are probably the ones I'd want to trade), and definitely need a catcher and maybe another pitcher or two. If anyone's interested, send me a PM.
