As long as you have a PC. The Mac version will only import from v.2006.

Thats the last question, I promise.

Let's define that one more time to make sure I understand the question and the answer. Does this say a league imported from 6.51< to v2006, histories recovered with a third party, will import to 2007 but will once again lose those histories previously recovered?

If the game is in OOTP 2006, moving it to 2007 is close to effortless.

If the game is in OOTP 6, import into 2007 is not bad, and the history, in many spots, goes away. Much of that history can be recovered by an Anderson Utility.

No. The only time history gets lost is when moving from OOTP6 to either of the newer versions. Leagues currently in 2006 do not lose history when converting to 2007.

Whatever leagues you have in 2006 will copy almost byte-for-byte into 2007 (with appropriate changes to accomodate new features like morale, etc.). The only time history loss occurs is when coming from OOTP6, as that's the "old database" game.

To address chippered's original question: yes, you could import a league from OOTP6 to 2006 (losing some history) and then immediately from 2006 to 2007. But what Raidergoo was trying to point out is that there's no reason to do it in two steps. You can import from OOTP6 directly to 2007. You won't lose any more history than in the two-step version, but the process will obviously take less time.

I gotcha. I'll probably stick with 6.51 for a while anyway, at least until the demo for 2007 is released. Then we'll see.

If you have any doubt, it is not worth the potential disappointment a preorder would bring. A demo is a very good way to go.

I'm optimistic because it looks like so much of what we asked for has made it in to the game but there is still that nagging element of doubt so I think I'll wait for the demo. It is really encouraging that so many talented people are saying so many complimentary things about the new version. My hopes are up.

You are right to be optimistic. If you or anyone has nagging doubts, the demo is for you.

Let's just say that there will be no need for a historical liberation army starting in mid March.

Excellent thought! I've never really thought about this in as far as what types of former players become managers.

We have already quietly disbanded.

Wow, what a list!

If all the hype pans out this WILL be the best OOTP to date. I think the difference between past versions and this one was the organization involved in implimenting all of the great ideas all of us contributed so well on. HUGE ups to Markus/Steve/Marc for listening to us and actually getting everything mapped out and then executing it and on time for opening day 2007. Just wanted to thank all you dudes for your hardwork .
