Can there be a way for the game to only generate photos for players who satisfy certain criteria, like more than 2000 At bats, 200 home runs, etc? This might help lessen the load for those using slower machines.
I think there is a major league only option, and an on demand only option that forces you to click the button yourself to make a pic. Facegen makes an individual pic in less than a second.

And if you draw a bit of your blood and place it in your cd/dvd burner, it will collect your DNA sample and reproduce your face.

oooops, that's for OOTP2008.

Currently, we're at 3 pics per second. But well that's on my computer which is a fast one.
I suggest to do the following: Set up a league, start to play w/o player pics (disable player pics). Then, before you go to have dinner or before you go to bed or whatever, open the Game Setup page, enable player pictures and click on the "Create/update all player pictures" button. When you come back, your league has player pictures. From then on, the game will create pictures whenever someone is joining the league or whenever you open a player's profile page, depending on the options which you've choosen, and that's not needing too much time. If it needs to much time, just disable player pictures again. They will all keep their pictures! Just new players would be w/o picture. And sometime later just click that button again to create the missing pictures over night.
That works well.

Well what I wanted to say is just this: Facegen needs some time to create all the pics. If you don't want to wait, let it run overnight. We will implement several options and features to do that easily

Just curious, will oldtime caps and uniforms make it as an option for the release?

And if not they should be easy for someone (with talent) to mod, right?

The included pics are truly amazing. This alone will finally make me leave 6.5 in the past. Just a couple of questions though:

When I tried to use Layton's facetool, I lost my interest in it because so many of the created player pics looked so similar. Layton included 1000's of heads, but they must have been generated from Facegen's "family function", (or whatever it was called). So what ended up happening was there were guys on the same, and on other teams looking like the same person. I'm hoping that this will be avoided for 2007. That's why including facial hair is important.

The fact that the pics age with the player is friggin cool.
Another thing that could be added is players sporting a shaved look one year, and facial hair another year.

This doesn't happen in OOTP 2007

That's the plan Some players will keep their goatee for many years, others may change their look more often

Thanks for the quick response.

I have alot of confidence that this will be the best addition to 2007. Although there is one thing that would be nice if Facegen didn't limit you, and that's accurate depiction of hispanics and light skin blacks.

You have to be careful about making to many hispanics look white. The only one I can really think of right now is Mike Lowell.
And in terms of light skin black, I'm talking about skin types similiar to Coco Crisp or Vernon Wells. But I know from experience Facegen doesn't do that.

Whatever comes about this, I will love it either way.

I haven't read every post on this, so maybe this has been covered already, but...

Do the pics of players age at all? I noticed in one screen shot that the face of a 37 year old pitcher looked to be around that age.

Yes, and if they go into coaching, 20 years later they look 57.

Is there an age where they stop aging? I know there's no death, as of yet, so how is continual aging handled?

This is a wonderful feature, and it sure will make fictional leagues seem a lot more 'personal'. I've always used fictional & MLB picture sets in my fictional leagues. It was nice, but I always knew, deep down, "Ray Bruno" was really Enos Cabel.

Anyhow, a question. Will we have control over certain parameters FaceGen uses? For example, the 'caricature' slider in the FaceGen program. Could we have a league full of cartoon-y looking yokels, or are these sliders hardcoded in somehow?

I want a bunch of "monstrous" looking freakazoids for my Tim Burton-inspired universe!
