That's actually a good point... if the city doesn't change, but the nickname does, the game takes that into account, too, because it's pulling it in from Lahman each year.

Y1900, it is the little know father of Y2K and when it happened only horse drawn carriages flipped over and stopped working.

Searching the thread and the forum, I find no reference to it. Perhaps you should start a new thread addressing the concern.

Wow, I just read this, and it looks like all I ever wanted and more. I really hope it lives up to what it is being hyped to be with the features. This looks incredible, I can't wait

A couple of questions regarding the game's handling of lower minors and the new feeder leagues:
Does the game still fill the lowest league team with so many players above the league maximum (reserve players), or does the return of the "grey" player resolve this issue? My rookie league teams would often have 45 or 50 players, and with the AI calling up and sending down so many players every day, it made it nearly impossible to begin a managing career at this level. Well, for me anyways--my brain couldn't handle the constant changes imposed by GM meddling Are the college and high school league levels only feeder leagues into the draft pool, or can they also be used as a means of creating rookie leagues as part of a minor league system? I'm hoping to be able to create rookie leagues with age restrictions as part of the minors as opposed to a development/feeder league. The overall list of changes/additions is great. If it's all in a package that is a little less overwhelming to manipulate, OOTP will surely rise back to the top of my game-playing list.

As advertised, the high school and college leagues are not fully functional — or maybe it would be more fair to say not fully differentiated. They are designed solely to feed the draft. If some feeder league players go undrafted, they could be picked up as free agents and used however you see fit. (Answers are from similar questions asked elsewhere.) |

Managers, GM et al:
Now that we can track the Managers and all, can we maybe have some control over what players go on to coaching? I'd like to go to the retired players and hit a button to make them "COACH CARREER ELIGIBLE".
I have way too many nobody's running my teams. Also I have had way too many players go on to become team doctors. Maybe we can fine tune our pictures for doctors & GM's for the suit & tie crowd and the scouts and coach's to old ball players or as appropriate. Just a thought. Any feedback? JP |

I'd like it. Just remember that in recent history the most successful ex-players were the ones who either never made the majors, did so briefly, or or had long and unsuccessful careers.
Back in the day there were many pretty good players with long careers who became decent managers. (McGraw and Mack being the two most obvious.) The common wisdom today is that the best players make the worst managers/coaches. Probably your best criterion for who to give the good numbers to would be the ones with high Work Ethic, with Leadership second. Players who were born with high Overalls probably can't communicate how to do what THEY did instinctively, but those born with high Potentials who later achieved most of it might be good communicators. |

So far, all of the improvements look great. I do have one question though.
I bought 2006, but didnt care for it so much, so I went back to 6.5. Since I still have 2006 on my harddrive, could I import my 6.5 league to 2006 and then turn it around and import it into 2007 right away? I dont see a reason why I shouldnt be able to, but I'm curious to see what others have to say about this. In fact, i'm sure i'm not the only one wondering this, judging from the number of posters who say they tried 2006 only to go back to 6.5. Thanks in advance...
