That would be very difficult to do. Every head is at least somewhat different in shape. It would be hard to erase and/or blend where the hair would show around an ear for example. And, you would have to do a fair amount of custom blending for each guy (and hope he never changes teams).

True. Back when FaceGen was first discovered by whoever found it here and I started using it to make faces, I used to do this for individual guys. It was kind of tedious, but I would get in a groove where I would get faster and faster. I'd select just the head and make it a layer, then load up a "hair" background, one of several different-sized caps, and the top of a shirt, and position everything accordingly. I never did change pictures for team changes, though.

I eventually gave up on doing the work and resorted to using pictures of random people with baseball caps who may or may not have been real players somewhere in the world.

If you're pulling a picture of a face directly from FaceGen, it's certainly easier to do that. The background is all one color so you can select that for deletion. Then you can add graphics on seperate layers (hair, a hat, and whatnot). With the new integral FaceGen feature, you're getting a complete picture all in one layer. It won't be easy to select out which parts should be "above" the hair and which "behind". The magic lasso is going to have a lot of trouble with different facial tones, whatever background Andreas uses, etc.

I'm not saying it couldn't be done. I just don't think it would be practical for more than a handfull of guys in a league.

dola and BTW, what is the plan for backgrounds for these pictures? Will they be customizeable?

I can't wait until we get to see some screenshots of this feature.

They are already customizeable There is a folder /backgrounds; just put the backgrounds into that folder and they will be used randomly. Or you could put only one background into the folder and OOTP will only use that one; and next season you could change it.

you know what'd be cool - to optionally show the facegen pictures in black/white for historical leagues . . . I'm just sayin'

Right, as soon as the player's mood changed, the picture would go "color" again.

But, for online leagues, you could always run it right before posting to the web site .

Andreas gave me permission to say to the public that both Sepia and Black and White players pics have been added to the facegen feature. I have seen both already and i can tell you guys that I'm really impressed, specially about the sepia one that looks really like old pics.

I'm late to the party, but yeah...this is awesome.

Can there be a way for the game to only generate photos for players who satisfy certain criteria, like more than 2000 At bats, 200 home runs, etc? This might help lessen the load for those using slower machines.
