Agreed, but I don't know many people who know how to hack/crack games, or where to download them from.....

But I do know plenty of people who have burners and know how to copy games......

The point that was made earlier was that if you're going to release anything these days, it better be copy protected. Yes, there will always be people who can hack the game, but the copy protection at least prevents the normal user from copying. If you travel down to MIRC, it may seem like everyone and their mother is a pirate, but in reality, not very many people know how to download and hack games. Which is of course, a good thing.

I know that there is no way to stop it and copy protection is the best way obviously. There is a site out there that allows you to Download no cd cracks which allows you to use any game that you can copy to a cd and use the no cd crack. That's a site i'd liek to see taken down. I will not post the name of it here because of the people that do use it illegally.

How do you not know many people that know how to download cracked games? Not saying it is right or that I support it, but every person I know has KaZaA on their machine and can get just about anything they want. Those that don't copy the software from someone else.

Before anyone gets to uppity about pirated software, delete all of those MP3's off of your PC that are from albums that you do not own. And show me your CD-Key from every MS product you have installed. And explain to me why you have a burner in the first place. Oh, that's right to make backup copies of all of your software just in case you happen to step on that CD...

hey i just recently broke a copy of my sims game and had to buy it again, i would have LOVE to have had a additional copy. As a matter of fact my CDs get beat to hell by in like 3 years time, i don't have to organizational skills to do it. And hey a CD burner is to make your own mix CDs from the CDs you already own

I'm very sad to read that STB will no longer be on the shelf. I would have never found OOTP if there hadn't been a shelf version. I originally had Baseball Mogul, but STB is much better. I'm looking forward to getting OOTP5 and am very happy to read that I can order it over the phone. My mommy says that it's not safe to order over the internet and she's bigger than I am, so I just have to obey (although I am 24 and 500 miles away from her right now.... I could probably get away with it

So, are the patches to update the game going to keep being put out? I mean, can we still update the game and get better add ons even though the game isn't being made anymore?

I thought STB was just OOTP in a CD format?? Since OOTP5 will be available in a CD, whats the problem?

STB was available in stores. OOTP5 CD Edition will not.

Unless I missed an announcement somewhere....

Maybe a bit, but I feel that most who purchased STB and visited here as well will get OOTP5. Plus the whole STB is nothing that we have control over anyway.

IMO, if people who purchased STB are now going to buy Mogul instead of OOTP5 they are going backwards in techology. But thats just my opinion.

If people feel weary on buying a game with credit card, or for those who don't have one... there is a very simple solution. Drop down to your local postal outlet, pick up a money order, and "snail" mail it to ViaTech. I purchased TDCB in this manner, it was very easy, and I was e-mailed my elicence info in less than two weeks.

Buy OOTP5 via Money Order may not be as easy as going down to EB or Wal-Mart and buying Mogul, but that little bit of effort lands you the better product IMO.

I would agree with you. Never the less, there are some people who do not want to order games online or others who don't know about games online and still enjoy purchasing sports simulations. That is why I feel that Sports Mogul will gain some of the fringe consumers who will never know the joy of playing OOTP5!

Exactly. I probably can't get the game, althought I want it so badly, because I don't order things online. Even if I send money in, currencies are different around the world....
Couldn't they just sell it retail...dammit...

Use a currency converter and send the money in. Lots have done that in the past.

I'm very thankful for all who are here due to the success of STB, however as I have said before this is something that was "out of our hands".
