I like Jesse, he's always clutch for me in OOTP.

Twins payroll in 2010 should be between 100-110 million. I expect them to offer Johan around 90.5 million over 4 years withinin the next 3-4 months. SO where does that leave us with Mauer, Morneau, Liriano, Nathan, Cuddyer?

I dont expect Mauer to be allowed to go anywhere. I wonder if he would take 50m/5 years.

I think sadly enough Morneau might have had too great of a year to expect the twins to be able to resign him. I dont think the Twins will want to fork out 12-15 million per year on a 1st baseman with their limited revenue capabilities.

I just hope the Twins lock up Santana very soon, if it gets through 08, his market price will sky rocket upwards of 30-35 million per year. Then he is a Red Zox or Yankee.

Unless he suddenly becomes really, really bad, at which point he will command the same price, but become a Cub.

Did I read right that the Twins signed Matt LeCroy to a minor league contract? Hope they increase the post-game spread budget!

LOL, love the cub comment. Come to think of it hes not really Yankee material either, way to young. Maybe if he was 36 with 2500 IP under his belt. Hopefully the Twins lock him up through 2013 then the Yanks offer him 350 million for 7 more years at that point

Wow, I thought you were joking about that! I guess hes not a bad hitter, not sure how they can afford to keep him and Rondell as defensive liabilities however...

Having LeCroy as a backup catcher will be fine, since you can't throw a ball past him. It's kinda like hiring a sumo wrestler to be your goalie.

Did they lose Redmond? He did a nice job! Backup catcher with great leadership, defense and 300+ hitter is hard to ignore.

My 1000th, 2000th and now 3000th posts have all been in this thread.

At the Twins caravan in my hometown, Terry Ryan was there and he said the rotation will be

Santana
Bonser
Silva
Ortiz
Ponson/Garza/Perkins

Rondell White should be starting LF with a couple people fighting for the DH spot.

Morneau avoids arbitration. Punto avaoids arbitration and locks up a two year deal. Rincon avoids arbitration.

4.5 for Morneau
4.2ish for 2 years for Punto (4.2? Wow)
Rincon, don't remember

Punto does not deserve that. Just stating the obvious here.

WIth Jason Kubel healthy this year, we should actually have some production at the DH spot. Discuss.

Preferably in a 2007 thread.

We don't have a 2007 thread. I assume we're keeping this one because it's just so great.

Since there's no 2007 thread, I figured I'd let you know that Jesse Crain just signed a 3 year contract. (I work with his brother-in-law)

Jesse Crain is the illegitmate ass-child of Ross Gload and Doug Glanville!
