This is true, and to be honest, I'd lost sight of it, there's been so much going on. I've re-opened the discussion within the beta forums.

It seems to me there should probably be a button or something on the player card to generate a new face...

...now if I only had a button like that.

Yeah, same problem here. But don't worry, I've been using the name set already to set a proper facial type. More info tomorrow in the beta forums.

It's already there. In the game, it is.

Then you wouldn't need that apple covering your face all the time.

My current dynasty is 13 years old and has a combination of real and fictional players. Is there a "best" way to do the face gen when combining it with a current league, that has named photos, that you are going to import from v2006?

Should I import my league, create faces for all players, and then move my named real player photos in? I assume my named photos, ala Mark_Prior.jpg will over-ride any face that is created for him?

Can you create photos for one league and not another? In other words can you create photos for MLB and not the minor leagues?

With regard to HD space do these photos take up approx the same space as jpg photos or are they larger like when we had to use bmp's?

What happens to the facegens as players retire? Are they deleted from where they are stored to save disk space? Do HOF palyers keep their facegens? etc.

Actually, this is probably the best way to do it, assuming that you want fictional faces for anyone who doesn't have a real photo.

Yes. In fact, I think there's an option to only create faces when players reach the major leagues.

I'm on the non-ootp PC right now, but I believe they're pngs, so they're comparable to jpgs.

They're all kept, I believe. Sorry, some of this I'd have to double-check.

Thanks Steve for the info. This is such a great addition to the game and something I wasn't expecting. Well done Markus

So it should be fairly easy to stick with the "historically accurate" theme of not having any 'face types' other than caucasian in the early 1900s?

So as of now its just a plain shirt and hat, of varying colors (team colors?)?

Correct, but that will get updated by release.

Wow, this keeps getting better and better the more I read. ANY FaceGen is so much better than nothing.

Yes.

TBD how easy it will be to change that over time, though. That's kind of a work in progress.

That's the theory. The magic eight ball says "Ask again later". There is a lot of work to do with the Face Gen stuff for the game to be ready.

Of course, at the rate that Andreas is moving this element along, you might end up with photorealistic men by late March.

Let me tell you, it's 100x better looking at an actual face than what was previously there.

Right now, it's no hat, a non-descript shirt, and a generic (non-team) off-white.
