6.51 into 2007

I never bought OOTP2006 do to time restraints and computer issues, and the negative feedback I've been reading about 2006 and the fact that 2007 is only 2, maybe 3 months away has me completely disinterested in 2006 now.

I do still have 6.51, but Im wondering what are the chances that OOTP2007 can import 6.51 leagues, or if I can use the demo as a "buffer" and import 6.51 to 2006 to 2007.

Just wondering before I begin a new league.

I have a feeling that last comment will increase sales drastically.

Glad

Mark,
VERY happy to know we can bring 6.51 into 2007. If it is the Uber version he's been saying it is, he got one sale right here. I've held off upgrading to 2006 due to the lack of 6.5 features and the feedback, but if things look good, I'm so there and bringing my solo leagues with me. Huurah!

For 6.x leagues, did anyone mention "ghost players" are back?

Does this mean we will get all of the 6.51 history as well?

This is great news.

One of my favorite leagues uses 6.51 and I don't want to lose any of its history.

No, sorry EC. The import process hasn't changed from last year.

Why is this still not possible, Steve? Just curious.

Basically, because Markus still hasn't spent time working on that aspect of the game, and because Larry already wrote a utility to do it.

I didn't meant that to sound snide, but that's basically it - Markus simply hasn't had the time to code this AND still accomplish all of the other stuff he wanted to accomplish. Now that Larry has written a utility that does it, there's even less incentive to do it.

Sounds fair. Maybe it'll be in a patch somewhere down the road.

Foreman, I really wouldn't get your hopes up on that front. That's now two versions ago... I'm not trying to be a naysayer, just don't want you to have unrealistic expectations...

<sigh> I'll be happy with or without it, as everything I've read so far has gotten me pretty hyped. And --as with all the previous versions I've played-- I'm prepared to deal with the hiccups (both major and minor) that are likely to occur in this new version. Though I do believe there will be substantially fewer than in OOTP2006. The expansion option (w/draft) and the face generator are friggin' awesome bonuses I wasn't expecting. And the stars! Oh, the glorious stars! How I've missed thee. . . .

Anyway, thanks for the info, Steve.
