Pacers/Warriors 8 player trade
Pacers Get
Troy Murphy Mike Dunleavy Ike Diogu Keith McLeod Warriors Get Al Harrington Stephan Jackson Saruanus Jasikevicious Josh Powell I'm a fan of Troy Murphy's (of course since I love ND) but losing Harrington hurts. In the end small price to pay to get rid of Jackson. |

Taking on Dunleavy is not a small price.
I think Diogu is good though, thats probably the biggest loss for the Warriors.

If they can get rid of Jackson it's a great deal for the warriors, but he'll cause problems if he is there longer than a month or two

I have to say I was stunned to see Al Harrington in that trade. He was doing well, and I couldn't believe that the Pacers traded him.
I have to agree I thought the Warriors got the better part of the trade, even with taking Jackson and his maturity issues. Stunner. Since I am totally unfamiliar with the new Pacers, are they defensively minded, and athletic enough to handle a faster pace game?

Defensive minded? That'd be a no.
Murphy can bang and shoot, but stays outside too much. When he's playing well though, he's a double-double guy for sure. Dunleavy could be better, but never makes it happen. Flashes of brilliance then flashes of crap. Diogu will be good, but not until 2008 I'd bet. McLoud? Meh.

Pacers got the best potential player in the deal (Diogu) but had to take on some ugly contracts to do so. GS made out on current production, but in an already questionable locker room, they added a potential malcontent (Jackson).
Both teams improved considering they were moving some guys that didn't contribute, but both also paid a price (GS giving up Ike and taking sJax, Indiana in losing Harrington and taking on some big contracts). |

Kinda leaning toward it being a solid trade for both teams.

I like this a little more for Indiana. They had to take on bad contracts, but they got the better part of the deal player wise. Harrington was good, but Jackson has been positively mediocre this year on the court while being a huge distraction off the court. Sarunas is ok but not a big loss.
Coming from GS Murphy and Dunleavy can both stretch the floor and open space for O'Neal... Diogu is the best part of the deal for Indy. He's been very productive when he's played, but he just hasn't gotten to play that much in Nellie's system. So in the end I give the Pacers a slight edge, but it's not an awful deal for the Warriors because they did get rid of those bad contracts.

I would say more Pacers could be traded like Darrell Armstrong to the Magic so he can retire as a Magic player,Marquis Daniels because he come up in rumors, maybe O'Neal to the Heat for Williams,Posey,Walker and so on or to the Magic for Vasquez,Battie,Augustine,Diemer,Bogans and Redick and maybe Tinsley.
This trade helps out the Warriors because they tryed to sign Harrington as a Free-Agent this past Offseason and makes them have better chance to make the Playoffs now.

C'mon, Larry Legend isn't that bad as a GM.
