Skipping over all the arguing I see as I skim the thread...

I'd love to have the option because I like both styles for different types of play. For fast-paced play, I like the older way of having immediate responses. For a more leisurely pace, I like having the wait.

There can be both. You can have the nice leisurely pace during most of the year but at the Deadline, just after Spring Training and during the Winter meetings you get it NOW. Kinda like EHM (there I go again...).

The AI's management is the most drastic need that I think most of us feel is warranted. I agree that it's pretty brutal but the coaching algorithms are also a little fooked. I had issues with progressing/declining and then I turned coaching off. What a change that made.

I agree, though, that the 'offer around' button needs a return in the worst way. Almost like stars returning and having a rating system that means something so far as overall goes. If it's going to be there it should be meaningful.

We all have our ticky tack little issues with the game. Let's see what 07 is like before we mutiny, though. (That's the shot across the bow for Markus. )

Right! Let's say that, for whatever psychotic reason, the Cards wanted to trade Pujols for, say, Scott Hatteberg. Would the Reds GM need more than a New York minute to decide upon this? Not a chance! Granted, this isn't frickin' likely to happen in real life, but since there is the possibility for it to happen in the game-world then there should also exist the possibility for a GM to respond to a trade like this instantly.

But if guys like the Colonel really wanted 'real world' reasoning only within these games, they should be lobbying to remove the possibility for wacko trades like the one above. Remember, fellas, this is a computer game, not a new alternate reality that is being made here.

I think that you're slightly off in your estimation. I think Markus is creating a game where we can be God/Commish/Owner/ and GM (oh, and also skipper). I know that it sounds like I'm splitting hairs, but it's much, much broader of an experience than just simply that from a GM's position.

I know it's not like this in baseball or any other sport, by it was my style of play and made the game fun for me - pondering over which trade to take for a player I was "shopping" around.
You can still do this at the trade deadline and at the winter meetings.
