Although I'm quite new to the game, I think the addition of this feature would be very useful to for some of the historical leagues that I would be interested in setting up. I've been reading the boards quite a bit and think this would be an extremely popular addition.

It was a big waste of money for me. I continue to play a ton of online 6.5 leagues though.
I downloaded the trial after the final version was released and I did not decide to purchase v2006 ata that time mainly because my v6.5 solo leagues were midway through the 2006 season (I play it realtime) and I was not happy with the conversion from 6.5 -> v2006. Now that my 2006 season is over (my team actually won for once - who-hoo!), I'm trying to decide my next move.

While I like a lot of what's in v2006 and the 1.0.3 patch sound slike it's stablized the game quite a bit and added some good features I'm torn whether I should stick with 6.5, migrate to v2006 to take advantage of it's richer free agent functionality (the expanded contract options were a big win for me) and ability to integrate my US and global league into one universe or if I should try and patiently wait for what sounds like the Uber v2007 coming next year.

If v2007 is as cool as it sounds from Markus' note, I too would pony up my $$$ early to grab a stable release in Feb or March.

Regardless, Markus and team, thanks for continued efforts on what has become my new baseball sim obsession.

I'm curious about this as well. I'm asssuming that you WILL have the ability to import saved 2006 games into 2007, since that function exists in the current version, but you never know. Can someone in the "know" confirm this?

I would be disappointed as I'm sure many others would be if this was not possible. An incredible amount of time and effort has been put into the many great leagues created for 2006, and it would be a shame if all of that work had to be wasted.

Cost of 2007

Someone brought up the cost of OOTP2007. I would like to see some kind discount to all the loyalists of OOTP. Just speaking for my self, I have spent around 80$ on OOTP products, and feel the the loyal followers of OOTP deserve some kind of special discount. I feel that the 35$ I paid for 2006 was a bit too much pay for a game that in it's own right is "Good" but is still experimental. And 2007 should give us a combination of the steps made in 2006, and have the features that 6.51 had.

Don't get me wrong here, I love the OOTP series, and would play no other, Just wanted to make my point.

Thanks
Bob

The loyal fans of OOTP were offered a 20% discount for OOTP2006.

My opinion.....$35 was a real bargain for a game like this (I did pay the discount price though) . I have paid much more for baseball games, none of which compares to OOTP. APBA and SOM are way higher.

I have no problem with the price, but for that price I want the game finished. Not half done to meet a deadline, which is what happened in the case of 2006. Markus needs more time on 2007 to make it great, and SI should give it to him.

If you add an intergrated expansion draft engine I'll gladly have your baby.

I think expansion draft was strongly hinted at and I believe with the new engine from 2006, expansion would be prefectly fit the new mold.

Importing Previous Version

Please please please let us import our 2006 league into the game at any time (not just on opening day). That simple exclusion made me restart my league from scratch.

I would think that for 2007 this is a must, my Baseball world has 6 leagues in it with at least 15 diffrent opening days, operating year round. I don't think there is a single day where at least 1 league/minor league is not running.

Since this thread got pushed to the top again, thanks to a stealth link, I think I'll ask a couple of questions.

How is the development on OOTB2007 going? Is there any new information or screenshots?

Marc mentioned they wouldn't really be ramping up the marketing machine as early this year as they did last year... So, I don't think so, yet!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but OOTPB has been one of the best bargains I have ever purchased in my 66 years of life.

I know of nothing that gives me more pleasure for a pittance...about 10 cents a day.

My wife is my #1 joy in life, but she costs me a whole lot more than 10 cents a day.

And she is worth it...she is priceless.
