About time a player was thrown in jail for something like this, usually you get the ex pro's saying it should be kept in house and stuff but to me you hit someone on a playing field you should be dealt with as though you'd done it on the street. |

Personally I think it's different, don't get me wrong Thatcher got what he deserved but I think there's a differance between actually assaulting someone like the Barrow player did and being a complete jerk by taking a cheap shot in a tackle like Thatcher did.

Proof that Benitez has gone mad, bit old news was in yesterdays papers but according to him Liverpool got stuffed the other night because they don't give him enough money to spend on players hmmm last count Benitez had spent £80 million ($160 million) on players, maybe if he hadn't paid £7 million for Peter "bring on Jamaica and I'll show you what I can do" Crouch or maybe £6 million for Fernando "pace of a snail" Morientes or another £6 million on Jose "oops" Reina they'd be a better team

It looked really ugly to me. And completely unnecessary. While dome in the heat of the moment he should have faced the same consequences as the Barrow player.

but the way I was brought up on football and how the game should be played and how players should behave is dying out, football will always be played with passion but it isn't the same as it used to be.

I'm sure some people are waiting on MLS to fail, just so they can say they told you so.
Tony Gale ripped in to it, saying soccer would never be anything other than a for show sport in the States. If you don't like it that's fine, just forget about it. Don't need to keep going on about it. It seems we have some sad, xenophobic people in this country. |

Oh, and he said that Beckham's been on the down slope ever since leaving Old Trafford. Obviously he didn't see his first season there when he was their best player.
![]() Well he's a former West Ham player so what can you expect? |

Oh, and someone last night on Five Live Sport said that they come on to the field behind horses and play to banging music.
I believe they might have in the NASL days, but never in MLS has that been done. If you don't know anything, don't speak IMO.

I talk to alot of Liverpool fans and they want him out, they reckon he's taken them as far as he can and all he's doing now is one step forward two steps back.
Showed how bad it's got when ex Liverpool player Mark Lawrenson who never has a bad word to say about Liverpool said it was the worst defending he'd ever seen, personally and some Liverpool fans do agree with me and that is the worst thing that could have happened to them was winning the Champions League because it papered over alot of the cracks in the team and such. If they keep on like they are I'd say in a few years you'd have Liverpool dropping out of the big four and just ending up a top six team. |
