scouting trips

Hey I have dispatched my team of highly touted scouts all over the world to uncover talent. So far they have returned with glee to report on three players, all of whom are over 50, and one of whom is already inducted into the hall of fame. Other scouting trips have yielded minor league free agents. In past leagues I started I had some success in scouting for unknown talent but with these results I am thinking that I must have something set wrong in my setup. Anyone have similar results or are my highly rated scouts just really bad?

So I was checking my settings to make sure that I enabled the hidden players option (which I did) and noticed that "delete those who never reach the majors" was checked. Would this impact the opportunity to find hidden talent? I am in the third year of this league and my scouts have not once found an unknown player.

I believe the rate of success in scouting a nation for hidden talent depends on the quality of baseball in that country. Select Explore World on the manager menu to get this screen, and note the differences in Baseball Quality:

Also, I am pretty sure that I have read here that if you have an international league based in a certain nation, you cannot scout for hidden talent in that nation.

Finally, I am also reasonably certain that the "delete those who never reach the majors" has nothing to do with scouting hidden players. That is, unless you scouted someone, signed him to a minor league contract and left him there for the rest of his career. Once he retired, he would be deleted if he never played in a major league.

My scouts are in the Dominican Republic, Canada, Japan, Puerto Rico and Venezuela all nations rated excellent. The league in a typical ML model using one of the roster sets that I found on here. The league started in 2007 and any player in the league after the initial season is fictional and created by the game.
