Hopefully FIFA will stick with their rules and not let him play for any other team until June, first it will stop these shady agents or owners of a player from prostituting them, also it will teach teams like West Ham a lesson that when they go in for shady deals then they get penalised and finally it may stop players signing contracts with shady people.

It has to be one of the least surprising news stories of the year though, isn't it?

I think West Ham could go down again. Not much of a prediction I realise.

Being a Celtic fan I'm sorry to see him go simply because he wasn't taking them forward
Player power always wins out in the end. There is too much money to have it any other way.

Unless you're Fergie or Jose.

An interesting move by Fulham to get an Italian striker, Vincenzo Montella, on loan from Roma. We haven't had many of those in this country.

Hopefully FIFA wont mess up but seeing that Magnusson has his little sticky fingers in UEFA you can't see anything else but FIFA bending the rules.

Italians never travel well, can't think of any that have done anything much outside of Italy.

And in case anyone thought that the players didn't have all the power, Abel Xavier, who has been banned for taking drugs, tells Middlesbrough to pay him more money or he will invoke his "special clause" that will see him leave for free.

Players have ALL the power, if they don't want to play for a team they just go and sulk and football is that dominated by money teams will never band together and throw players on the scrapheap a prime example Juventus signing Mutu before his ban had finished and you could write a list a mile long of other examples.

I see Wigan are reducing their prices to try and get more people through the turnstiles.

Rare example though when you consider the amount of Italians that have played all over Europe considering how highly rated their players are. You look at most other countries and you could probably name a decent team of players that have played well outside of their countries.

I have been making money hand over fist in my America de Cali game and find myself with about 14m USD in the bank.

My transfer budget was sitting around 650k
I hardly ever go after big names instead picking up nickle and dime players at a young age and letting them grow.

Well I went into the board requests and did something I have not done in a while.
The game lets you ask for more transfer money, but I hardly ever do it since it seems to never work and I always manage tiny clubs.

Well on a whim I pressed it and went to my mail.
'The board inform you that extra funds will be avaliable immediatly'

Well I go to look thinking maybe I have a few extra hundred thousand in case I need need it.
I about fell out of my seat when I saw my new budget.
6.83m USD

I have been to the title game 3 out of 4 times (Colombian season is split in two with two title games each season) and lost all three times.
I also starting to play in more South American tournements.
Maybe its time I start using my good financial skills to start grabbing up some of the big time players and then sell them a few years down the road.
I think I can turn this club into a giant.

Since you mention your Colombian dynasty, one guy I'm curious about on FM2007 is Daniel Machacon, who starts out on Deportivo Junior of Barranquilla. I bought him on my FM2006 save and he's top-notch, making Spanish First Division Team of the Season his first full year with Celta. I'm using him as my creative attacking midfielder in the center of the pitch this season ... he's also good for the right wing. 20 dribbling, 19 first touch, 20 creativity, 19 decisions. I think the researchers may have downgraded him for 2007 because he doesn't show up in the demo's Spanish league quick start, and I checked on D. Junior's website and he's listed as a right-fullback. Just wondering if he's worth anything in FM2007.

He is a central defender/right fullback in my game
He still plays for Junior and is a permanent fixture of their reserve club.
They are not a very good team in my game and hang around the bottom of the table.
He is only valued at 5,000 and is 23 and it is now early 2008 in my game.
His skills are not too great and looks as if he will always be a fringe player.

isnt that a bit ironic...as Athens and Sparta clashed on many occassions...unless something is going horribly wrong in my thinkfactory at the moment.
