csv question

When I open the player.csv file and look at the ratings these are the same as the actual 1-200 rating that is in the player editor correct? I like to be able to import the ratings and compile them in order to rank players across the league based on varying attributes, however, if I use the csv dump I am able to look at the actual ratings. To me this takes some of the challenge out of it.

Is there a way to get the data from my scouts (which always has some variation) without going in and copying all my scouting reports directly? The other option is to base my comparisons statistics but I then run into the problem of not having identical sample sizes.

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't think that this is that tough of a question. Does it make sense or am I speaking jibberish?

I don't think what you want to do is possible - the CSV output is independent of the scouts, and can't be filtered.

Look in the players_value file. This is the true 1-250 ratings for contact, etc. What specific ratings are you looking for?

I think he doesn't want to see the actual ratings...but would rather see the scouted ratings...or at least not there true ratings....

At least this "To me this takes some of the challenge out of it." comment of his post makes me think that is what he means.

I don't know if this particular set would be possible, but some of these pages have a button that will open a different browser with the information... from there you can copy and paste into excel. Think that's the only possible way to get the scouted ratings into something outside the game.

You are right Brian. I want the scouts ratings not the true rating. I know I can copy and paste from the browser to import the information but it is so much easier using the database tools option. Just thought there might be a table that I was missing that had the scouts information in it.

The other ratings are in the players_batting.csv and the players.pitching.csv file.

However, it is also the actual ratings. How would you see the scout ratings using the dump? It would have to be the SISA ratings, as each scout sees different things for different players.

There are some export rosters in the game, maybe check that out and see if the ratings are there. If you can program, you can write some software to parse the players html pages and pull the information out.

So where do the scouts ratings come from? What I would like is to see the ratings from my head scout. The info may not be in the dump but it would have to be someplace.
