Two if you count Watford, think their manager is out of his depth as well. |

Whoever invented this winter concept should be fired.

To the extent that its easier to get warm than cold I agree. And the air has a cool earthy smell. But I miss the warm summer evenings.

Few things going on in football.
Charlton get turned down, I'm as has been pub playing central defender with dodgy knees and I'd turn Charlton down at this moment in time. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...an/6196309.stm I love Jose he's the sort of character that football needs. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...em/6196799.stm It's not rocket science, you only have 11 players on the field so hardly hard to work out who should be playing and who shouldn't. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...up/6186407.stm May go and watch United play, seen Henrik play a couple of times but with retirement just around the corner could be a last chance to see imo one of the great players on the field but a true gentleman of it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...td/6196343.stm |

Paul's Alternative Football Review of the Year Awards
Overhyped Player of the Year: here Turkey of the Year: here Okay award 3, and it's the goal of the year for a team. Quite an easy one I think, so I'll just reveal it. Team Goal of the Year 24 passes, one amazing move, finished off by Esteban Cambiasso. The goal of the group stage at the World Cup finals as Argentina went from one end of the pitch to the other against Serbia & Montenegro. Yes they might have won 6-0, but this second goal really broke the Serbian spirits in my opinion. Watch it again here http://youtube.com/watch?v=KnOGx7DL-CQ Truly one of the best goals in football history. |

Paul's Alternative Football Review of the Year Awards
Someone once said that football "is a funny old game". How true they were. In fact, even the most boring of matches can become memorable by a moment of hilarity. Blooper of the Year Candidates in this category include two goalkeepers. First, Yoshikatsu Kawaguchi getting tricked by a bounce but getting away with it (for Japan vs. Croatia) – http://youtube.com/watch?v=9r0Q4l6qEUI , and Paul Robinson getting tricked by a divot and not (for England, vs. Croatia again) – http://youtube.com/watch?v=3DmeyZNeEeQ . Sadly, another of my favourites (http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...postcount=2701 ), the unknown Beitar Jerusalem player who finds trying to take a corner kick in a puddle impossible has been taken down from YouTube. The only video I could find is from a fan – http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZHNU_1gEnE4 . There is also Tottenham's Jermaine Jenas's miss with the goal at his mercy, with the agony compounded when Liverpool scored down the other end immediately afterwards. http://youtube.com/watch?v=rJLRphiSR4E The winner though is Demirel Volkan’s attempted punt clearance in Turkey’s friendly game with Italy which didn’t exactly go to plan. In fact he ended up blasting the ball at Alberto Gilardino, who deflected the ball straight into the path of Antonio Di Natale to tap into the empty net. http://youtube.com/watch?v=YpBt_D0Nv34 And just three minutes later, Marco Materazzi – yes, his second mention in the awards already – continued the laugh-a-thon when he turned in a cross into his own net, and the game did finish 1-1. http://youtube.com/watch?v=8CR5mvt5IEY Last edited by Sdpm100; 12-20-2006 at 02:08 PM. |

Gifu are almost certainly going to be one division below where they want to be, as they defeated JFL bottom club Honda Lock 4-0 in the away leg of their playoff.
![]() Barring an amazing turnaround in the home leg at the weekend they will be promoted in the corporate club's place. Sadly it will be another corporate team, and not V.Varen who will be the other promoted side.
