Northwoods Baseball League
Here are some logos for this college level baseball league in the upper midwest. The Border Cats won the championship in '05 but lost to the Honkers this past season.
There are two new teams joining the league in '07: the Green Bay Bullfrogs and a still unnamed team in Battle Creek, Michigan. http://www.northwoodsleague.com/Home.asp

Now you know I'm diggin' the Waterloo Bucks, since that's where I'm from!
![]() How do you like the drop shadow concept on the whole logo? When I played around with the idea, I kinda found that it usually made the logo off-center....since I usually always use black as the outer ring. I guess River Bats would be the best example, in this collection, as to what I am talking about. The shadow makes it look like the second ring was placed off-center....if you get at what I'm talking about. I never played around with it, but I'm wondering if some kinda outer glow color of some sort, would cut it up to keep it from looking off-center....when using black as the outer ring. Not knocking your work at all.....another logo hacker is the only one who would understand this nerdy obsession. ![]() |

Your spot on there, truthserum. Although I've used the effect on this set, I've avoided it on others because of that reason.
On these, I employed an outer bevel effect with a setting of '2' and no dropped shadow. But it still creates a bit of an off center look as you observed. Maybe I should try just a subtle emboss effect. Or maybe a 'keep it simple, stupid' approach and try nothing at all. ![]()

Thank you gocubsgo! I'm going to revisit these logos and remove the bevel effect so that they don't look 'unbalanced'.
Also, if anyone has a half decent River Bat image, I sure could use it. The ones I'm using now admittedly are not very crisp.

Hey, glad to hear you have photoshop again! Unfortunately, I don't have AIM (yet), but until I do, you can post any questions you have here and I would be happy to answer them.
