Almost feels like JP is taking a page from the Maple Leafs old playbook.

It's actually a word for an old wooden ship.

Okay, in fairness.... what did anyone freakin' expect?

We need pitching. Spent a lot of money on Thomas... and Lugo is going to command a small fortune. Next to him, who's available? They don't want to move Hill from second base where he was very good last year, so they're looking for a stopgap, hense a one year contract. Clayton fits the bill like MacDonald did last year, only, as bad as he is, he's still a better hitter.

Sure, I'd LIKE a good shortstop, but it didn't really look all that feasable.

Looks like Clayton isn't even guaranteed job according to J P Riccardi today. I guess 1.5 million is a good gamble for a stop gap solution.

It's like the Red Sox Alex Cora deal. Not a bad pickup for insurance.
