That is absolutely fantastic - thanks so much for the heads-up, Roundin Third! And thanks Midknight for making this as well! Happy days! EDIT: Forgot I was running 6.0.1. So that'll be no script capability, then. GRRRR I don't suppose anyone knows whether the trial of CS2 let me use the script facilities?

When a player is traded I move his photos to the new team's folders and edit his home/away unies using gimp. This procedure may not be as practical for large leagues or leagues that use all of the trade and free agency bells and whistles because of the large amount of player movement. My fictional league is small (16 major clubs and 24 independent league clubs). I only create photos for the major clubs. Also there is very limited movement in my league. (No FA in the majors and very limited amount of trades.) Plus, I use 25 man rosters with no roster expansion. This makes it easier to maintain player photos. Anyway, this works quite nicely for me. I'm sure it would spoil me too, Deft, if I could actually get it to work. Still, I'm happy with the manual approach because I can actually see the players in their home and away unies. If there has to be a trade off, this is it for me.

I've had no trouble getting other league setups working with FaceTool, but the following setup fails to work for me:
2 leagues of 2 divisions each, 6 teams in each division for a total of 24 teams, 162 game schedule. Every time I try to load the league into FaceTool, I get an invalid pointer error. I've tried rebooting, uninstalling, re-installing, but nothing gets me past the invalid pointer operation. Any insights? |

I've used the tool successfully in the first year of my league after following the various steps laid out on this thread:
1 - Make sure the program is actually installed at c:\Program Files\OOTPfacetool\ 2 - If it is, open the file configuration.ini The second line of that file should read c:\Program Files\OOTPfacetool\ If you've checked both of those, and they are both fine, then try the following: 1 - Go to Settings->Control Panel->BDE Administrator 2 - Look for the Alias "FaceTool1", and delete it 3 - Go into c:\Program Files\OOTPfacetool\data and delete everything that's in there except nations.csv and facialhair.csv (basically, delete anything that ends with .db) 4 - Delete the file c:\Program Files\OOTPfacetool\configuration.ini and the file c:\Program Files\OOTPfacetool\errors.txt For some strange reason, the tool does not work when I try to run it in the 2nd year of the league. I've followed the same exact procedures, but to no avail. I am getting an INVALID POINTER OPERATION no matter what I do. I've even atttempted reinstalling the application several times. Does anyone have any insight into this particular error or how to get this tool to work consistently? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a feeling that the question has been asked already but here it goes again. Does anyone know if there are plans to integrate Face Tool into BM2007?
Markus talks about wanting to add more "fun" to the upcoming version of the game and I consider this to be a big step in that direction. Automatic generation of player photos gives the game a level of personality that is sorely lacking when just looking at numbers (although i do love numbers). |

Hey all, I stumbled upon this post today at work. If you are still having problems give this a try.
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=130647 I was having the same problems as everyone else, applied this fix and BAM it worked. Now I have to find cool uni's and logos to go into the league I finally get to create. |

I don't have the time to read the entire thread to see if this isuue has been answered, but the way to stop the shortcut problem is to go to the shortcut properties, then go to the "start in" box and put ""C:\Games\OOTP FaceTool" into that. Naturally the folder for you may not be "c:games", so put in whatever folder you installed to (c:\*\OOTP FaceTool), That solved the problem for me. Last edited by StyxNCa; 11-24-2006 at 09:26 PM. |

Has anyone found a good uniform template for the Montreal Expos?
I'm playing a season based on a 1985 Lahman import and the Expos uniforms look bad compared to the mlb uniforms. EDIT - found one here http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...DIAN/?start=40 Last edited by Exodor; 11-25-2006 at 11:33 AM. |

I posted this in General Discussion but thought it was appropriate to post here as well........
I FINALLY figured it out!!!!!!!!! After many days of endless testing I am finally able to run FaceTool on a consistent basis through multiple years of my leagues without getting ANY errors! I am no programming expert. In fact, I don't know how to program at all. However, through very crude trial and error, I am able to say the following with absolute certainty about my particular situation: There is a bug in FaceTool which prohibits it from recognizing a modified NATIONS.txt file after the first use in a game. This his been extensilvely tested. Every single game I was running previously had a modified nations.txt file (modified only once before ANY test leagues were created). I never bothered to check it before because Layton is my Homeboy, the creator of this awesome tool, had stated in his 1.0 release notes that the tool was able to support a modified nations.txt file. While this might be the case in other instances for other people, in my particular case, it definitely is not. It's all good, though. After restoring the original nations.txt file, I am now able to utilize this absolutely incredible tool without any issues. To those people out there who are still getting the various errors I have described in this thread and on the General discussion board, restoring the original nations.txt file (if you are using an amended version), might just do the trick. Good luck! <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Looks like no one is answering questions in this thread anymore but I will try anyway - I had this utitlity working for while _ THIS IS THE ONLY REASON I STARTED PLAYING 2006 AGAIN - THE ONLY REASON - But I had to reinstall and now I get the error message
Field "universe_name" must have a value Please anyone help - otherwise I shelve the game again. Thanks to LIMHB for such a great great utility - the mother of all utilities - and if I could get it to work again - that would be fabulous!!!

mine worked great before as well - but since I rebuilt my computer I can't get it to work at all - I'm getting the operating not applicable error.
I have tried all the known solutions to no avail - I am wondering if perhaps the earlier versions may have been more stable. I know I had it working great in the first couple of releases.

I would think that all you would need to do is to create custom unis that are b/w but then you would probably need to have a copy of the heads and use photoshop to save them as b/w photos. Don't know if this can be done in a script or not. It would probably be easier to have the utility make the players and then just open them up in photoshop already created and save them as b/w or sepia tone. |

Is this still being supported. I went to download the 6000 heads that are in the link and I get a message that the file for the heads were deleted due to complaints. Was this a complaint by SI or something? The heads I have are from the first BETA and look bad, they were much improved in the link.
