Evander Holifield
He won tonight! Just another name in the mix. Kevin Johnson also won tonight. I wish he was would fight more often.

Wow, Evander beat Fres thats a nice win for the old man, I mean Fres isn't by any means a great fighter but he isn't bad and he's eons beyond that walking punching bag that Evander beat in his last fight. How did Evander look in the fight?

I didn't know it was on PPV or I would have through down the cash to watch it. I have read alot of online opinions and most think that Fres won a close one. Evander did knock Fres down in the first round and won by the scores of: 116-111, 114-113, 114-113.....so the KD was the difference.

Ah, crap yeah I even realize that Evander was fighting today at all. Hopefully, someone saw and let us know how Evander looked.

I saw it ... although I'm glad I didn't actually pay money for it. It was slow paced and dull. Fres didn't push the pace at all & test Evander's stamina.
Even though Fres didn't do much & got put down early, I still thought he won by 1 or 2 points because Evander did even less (which should not have been possible given how poorly Fres fought). Giving it to Holyfield by a point, though , was by no means a robbery. There were a lot of rounds where not much of significance happened. However, the 116-111 judge was out to lunch. Didn't change my opinion at all that Holyfield should not be getting punched in the head anymore. |

From what I'm reading, he is looking to fight Maskeav....though I think he stands a shot at Briggs. Oleg has a decent work rate and might wear Evander down.

Slow paced and dull. Sadly that pretty much describes heavyweight action of late. Bear |

Don't think we'll be seeing any Dempseys, Marcianos or Fraziers any time soon. They all want to look like pro-wrasslers and I don't know if this is their own idea or something instilled in them by modern trainers, many of whom know squat about boxing. "Bigger is Better" is their motto. Must all be from Texas or Alberta. Then again, maybe these big bulky guys are all thats walking into gyms these days. Too bad Chris Byrd didn't have a real punch to go with his speed. Well, they always say a puncher is born, not made.

Ditto that, I agree with Cap as well....It seems like the rage is to get as big and bulky as possible and try an out maul your opponents....The "glamour" division has been anything but for quite sometime. Do you guys see anyone out there that could inject some excitement into the HW ranks?

Kevin has a great jab..but the last time that I watched him fight that is about all he landed the entire fight...his jab. I like him though. He has some nice skills to work with. Did you get to see his fight the other night? If so,how did he look?

Wladimir Klitschko's textbook jabs and right hands are far superior to the "skill-less mauling" of which you speak. The guy can box, and his skills resemble James J. Corbett's more than John L. Sullivan's IMO.

I agree, as long as he keeps his weight down.
