Juggernaut is ready! I think we will again be very competitive, but with 3 key rookies it may be another year before we win the division+.

Barbarians ready ...
... to test the waters with seven new faces, including five beginners. Johnny Greco and Robert Villemain will be missed, but looking forward to seeing what Laciar and Zapata can do in the flyweight ranks. Still waiting for Foster to win the LH strap ...

The Muckboys are ready to go and see if this experiment of ours will work or end in a horrible fiery trainwreck of epic proportions.

The list of fighters that will be added to the draft pool at the end of the season has been posted in the Utba draft thread on post #2.
As for Foster.......his only 2 losses have come in the end of the year tourney and with the LHW strap moving to the Silver Conference this season, it will be unlikely that Foster will have a shot at it until the EOY tourney again. I'll give Gunsmoke till this evening to PM me with his releases. If I hear no word from him, I'll go ahead and make the cuts for him and we'll get season 3 underway. Foster has been perfect during both regular seasons scoring the maximum points a fighter can earn during a season(might be a record that will never be broken). He was 14-0-0 (14) in his first season and 20-0-0 (20) in his second season. I have no explanation as to why he falls on his face during the tournament.

For those that requested the UTBA database...........it is on the way.
I don't know when you'll receive it as my dial-up is working overtime trying to get them out.

The Beaver brain trust has announced that, for season 3, each week a Bonner Springs fighter will be selected as "fighter of the week", and featured as BigMatt's avatar for that week.
Criteria for this honor will include winning a title belt, pulling a major upset, and/or beating a tough competitor (along with winning both week's matches). Since Mickey Walker would likely own a stranglehold on such an honor, consideration will be particularly given to fighters who exceed their expected performance for the week, especially when pulling an upset. This week showcases Zab Judah, a prized addition to team Beaver. Last edited by bigMatt; 11-10-2006 at 03:12 PM. |

Yikes. I wish that I hadn't asked SAL for the database. I ran ten matches against the Crusaders: Hebron won 4, Cawkney 5 with one tie.
Now I'll be biting my nails until the first match is over.

Well, the best way to think is that there really is no place for you guys to go but up. You can't do worse then last year plus like BigMatt I like what you did in the draft.

Thanks for the kind words, Matt and Romy.
Looking at my roster, it's certain I'll need to generate most of my points from the heavier divisions. Anything that comes from featherweight and lower will just be a bonus. |
