stupid me - help
OK, I've downloaded Rolen17 roster; now what?
For the life of me, I don't know why this is always so hard. I've been around since about ootp3 - and every time I try to start a new solo league, I spend hours trying to get the mods lined up with the program. And in the process, I end up with trillions of GBs of mis-directed files in various folders. And I'm Not a computer illiterate. So, two things... 1. where is the simple step-by-step on how to start a new solo leaue w/ the Rolen roster (I know it's out there, but I can't find it); and... 2. Can this thing - OOTP and mods - be made user friendly in the future Thx |

All you should have to do to start up Rolen's roster is download the file and then drop the .lg folder into the saved_games folder. Then, open OOTP, click load game and whatever the .lg folder is called should be listed there.

Still Stupid
Thanks... but still doesn't work. I unzipped it into the 'Svd games" folder; it shows up there in Windows Explorer; but when I go to 'Load Game' it's not there.
Any thoughts? |

Are you sure you are moving the .lg folder over and not the entire folder that gets created when you unzip the download? |

And with some zipping programs you need to make sure it preserves your directory structure.

Thx... but still stupid
got the roster to work; needed a .lg suffix added; now we'll see if the rest of this stuff works.
This is like when I got my first PC - an IBM AT in 1985. It took days to connect, configure, teach yourself DOS etc. Now, you buy a Dell, plug in a couple of color-coded wires, and are operating in about 15 minutes. This program is an AT running DOS |
