I'm looking forward to a smaller commute to the ballpark. Err, and a better ballpark. -I always thought the East Bay A's had a good ring to it anyway.

I do. My parents used to live there.

Can someone explain to me why you think that white cleats in baseball is a good thing?

When the A's are on the road, wearing their green jerseys, grey pants and white cleats, they look ridiculous, even clown-like.

I guess they look okay with the white home unis, but on the road, they resemble some suburban team whose players are all wearing Jerry Seinfeld's sneakers.

I just really, really like them. Not even because of the A's. I wore a pair of my dad's old white cleats when I played till they literally fell apart during a game. Then I paid extra for custom made white cleats (as it was impossible to find all white cleats). Just a personal preference.

It would be the Fremont A's of Oakland!
Doesn't Fremont have a Minor League team?
How about A's to San Jose?
It looks like they don't want to move out of state so no Portland or Orlando or Charlotte or San Antiono or New Orleans or Mexico City or P.Rico or Hawaii A's!

Uh, cuz it's a tradition for the A's to wear white cleats. Who cares why. I just don't want everybody to go back to wearing the same boring color of cleats.

Uh why? They wouldn't be "of Oakland" if they were in Fremont would they?

I don't believe so. But why should that matter anyway? They'd move somewhere else.

There's this team I like to call the San Francisco Giants, with their pesky territorial rights that stop this.

Being a life-long A's fan, I have to agree this is a good move. In my opinion, once they renovated the Coliseum to please Al Davis and the Raiders, it ruined the stadium as a baseball park.

I think they need to keep the name and colors, but I'm going to have to abstain from voting on the mascot. I've never understood the whole elephant as a sports mascot thing.

I only hope they can extend the BART system to the new stadium. One nice feature of McAfee or Network Associates Coliseum (or whatever they call it this week), is it's easily accessible by mass transit. Bay Area Rapid Transit and Amtrak have stations nearby. Both BART and Amtrak run to Fremont as well, but I'm guessing the stadium is going to be on the south end of town, away from the existing rail lines.

Sweet!

"Of Fremont" is, apparently, going to be in the name, accoring to Lew Wolff:
