Has to be Steve Finnan then. I disregarded him before thinking he was at Welling after they were relegated, but on reflection thinking about his age he must have been there while they were still in the Conference.

It's scorers of FA cup final winners innit? Was it Trevor Brooking? I think that's right.

Spot on, although it had been answered already. I knew our resident Wigan fan would get it in seconds given his age. There was a time when that question was a great way of splitting the genuine fan from the hanger on as no fan ever forgot those two classic cup final moments, while non-fans would go up the blind alley providing you wrote the question down.

Or if you have, then maybe it is corrupt in some way? Or if not, you could always rename the file and/or add ".jpeg" at the end to make sure it is set as a jpeg.

Showing my age but it was around that time that my memories of football begin, 1977 final was probably were it all started for me. Can't remember the game that much but can remember the goals and you used to be able to get posters and coins of the teams from the petrol (gas) stations at the time, also everyone's second team was either Liverpool or Man Utd at that time. 78 I remember the Ipswich goal and also think it was Brian Talbot splitting his head open in the semi final game against WBA, 79 the last ten minutes sticks in the mind but not the rest of the game as it was kind of poor until the last ten minutes. 80 the Brooking goal springs to mind as he never scored with his head and if memory serves me right it was a good job it was from only 5 yards out, the 81 final is when full games started to stick in my mind as they were the good old days when if it was level on the Saturday at full time they'd be back in the mid week to play a replay, near enough 200,000 people watching a couple of games within a few days now that was football. I'll be glad when and if they get back to Wembley, hopefully it will bring back the memories of the old Wembley because to be honest I can't think of many great moments since the final went to the Millennium Stadium. You may know the answer to the next anorak question, which is. Which player scored a hat trick for his country but never scored for his club ? And one that anyone could answer. What makes Hull City a one off ? |
