Union League Baseball: Retooled, Relaunched and Reborn.

Due to a lack of interest in the previous incarnation of UBL, I've decided to open things up and change some stuff around, and I'm hoping that more people will take an interest.

Here's the low-down:

- 100% fictional league
- anywhere from 8 to 16 teams, depending on the interest (smaller league = more intimacy = more of a chance to make your mark on and off the electronic field)
- three levels of minors (AAA, AA, and A)
- scouts and coaches ON (but please let me know if that's the one thing holding you back from signing up)
- $15,000,000 salary cap (the financial numbers aren't going to be MLB-level)
- three sims a week, 7 days a sim
- bonuses for participation above and beyond regularly exporting
- and a responsive, enthusiastic and all-around wonderful commissioner, if I do say so myself...

I've been in touch before, and wasn't quite ready. As I mentioned to you, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to contribute . . . especially over the next few weeks. But I'd like to help get the league going as best I can: taking on, and drafting for, a team would I guess be the minimum. Any idea, now, how you are going to draft for the teams . . . or are they already made up? Thanks for getting back to me.

Still up in the air. My bright idea was to release all the initially created players to free agency and then start the season off with a frenzy of free-agent signings, but I'm not absolutely wedded to the idea, and I'm open to holding an initial draft or just starting with pre-made teams if that is the sentiment of the league.

Speaking strictly for myself, I'd say don't worry about how much you can contribute above and beyond signing up and playing. Once we get this show on the road there'll be plenty of opportunities to write up as much or as little as your schedule allows. And once we're off and running the excitement and enthusiasm will be contagious. In a good way.

All that matters, though, is that you're having fun, quantity of contributions be damned!

In other words... please please please sign up. Please.

hey hey - so we're also free to just create a complete team identy? Doesn't matter where they're located as long as we know it will affect market size?

I'm pumped, I think it will be a good experience and am really excited to try to get in on the ground floor!
