Gotta say that the Patriots are a prime example of Chemisty and Leadership beating out superior talent. No one will ever confuse Brady as the most talented QB in the league but he is a leader and captain in every since of the word.

No. The Patriots had superior talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball. It took them three championships to get that recognized on the national level though. Brady is a great leader, but his most important skill is quick recognition and reaction, not the warm and fuzzy feeling he gives other people.

Because he has an amazing grasp of the mental side of being an NFL quarterback. It lets him see things on the field that lesser QBs don't and then has the physical tools to do something about it.

The main difference I see between the two is how calm Brady is in the pocket, where as Manning is all over the place. They both have the same result, but Brady is far more calm. Go watch the difference in their feet, Manning gets really happy feet and gets nervous, (yet he still comes through), whereas Brady sits back like nobody is there and its just him and the receivers. Its a thing of beauty.

Well yeah, the Pats actually have a defense, Peyton is on the field all game in shootouts, Brady usually doesnt get into shootouts as offense, because there defense is better and he doesnt need to throw the ball.
And yes, there is a big difference in results, especially titles

I believe in intangibles. I think they have some influence. I do not think the difference is big enough to swing three Super Bowls in an entirely different direction. |

I can't find a link to the article at the moment (I think a subscription is required), but it looks like Baseball America has named the Red Sox 2006 draft class the best in baseball.
Prospects mentioned are Bard, first baseman Lars Anderson, and Josh Papelbon. I'll see what else I can dig up. |

I'm pretty sure it works like this (this is how Gordan Edes has reported it, though not quite this clearly, if I say so myself), but this has been a source of debate:
FIRST, the RS decide to exercise the $7.5mm option or the $1.5mm buyout. SECOND, if the RS say no to the $7.5mm option (thereby paying the buyout), Foulke decides whether or not to exercise the $3.75mm option. In the end, the RS will likely decline the option. That $1.5mm becomes a sunk cost. Then, Foulke will decide if he can do better than 1/yr $3.75mm (or if there are other reasons to not resign). I don't think he can, so I think he'll come back for that $3.75mm.
