knightni,
Are you sure that you're not voting for this guy: Charlton "Pap" Brown I tend to think anyone affiliated with the A's who would fail to vote for him would be taken out an shot by the former A's GM and A's Fans. ![]() John ![]() "How many more Batter of the Year awards do I need to win and home runs do I need to hit to get some respect around here!" -Four Time BOY Winner, Hitter of 475 Career HR's and the Single Season HR Record Holder Charlton "Pap" Brown |

I don't mean to pressure you and was largely doing my typical joking around.
I thought you might have just forgotten him. But if you don't think he's worthy of being in the Hall, then you shouldn't vote for him. We all have picks that others don't agree with.John |

No doubt, Chris. Like voting for Tito Jr. and Bud while not voting for Luther and Misisca. :P
I had talked about doing some "advocacy" pieces to add when the ballots were rolled out that people could read for pro/con on various candidates. I think the tag team match of Luther & Mo vs. Tito & Bud would have made for a good piece. John |

Sorry been swamped at work:
Arsenault Nunez Arrendale Brown Degal Hans Perry Gwaltney Cook : one of the first african-african american players and served atthe top of the order of some of the most prolific offenses of the 50's. Homer vote but him being on base some how bothered pitchers or brought out the best in the hitters behind him Thanks for keeping it open, god I miss this stuff |

Biff's been lucky to survive this long, largely through your vote. But it's hard to argue for him when this guy got less than 50% of the vote:
.292/.355/.395/.751 Biff .313/.385/.473/.858 Dietrich They played about the same number of games, but Rudel has 650 extra AB, 340 more hits, 20 more 2B's, 57 more 3B, 115 more HR's, 222 more BB's, 297 more Runs and 243 more RBI. Those are big gaps. Sure, Biff was a catcher. But Rudel was a CF. Biff doesn't really have a chance with the Vet Committee. He just wasn't a "great" player, or even an excellent one for a lot of years. He really was just a role player. :/ John |
