Just in case you missed last year's thread.

The Aim

To take a small club who were previously unplayable in the game to Premiership and Champions League glory.

The Rules

Load a game with the English leagues only, with the Conference N/S selected, a medium database and attribute masking enabled. No additional players from any nation should be loaded.

The extra levels of detail that you can change while in the game are up to you, as they shouldn't make a difference.

Add yourself as an unemployed manager, the details are not important at all. I like to call mine 'Holiday Man'.

Go on holiday until 20th June. (Hint - saving on 19th June may give you a better choice of teams by saving and reloading the game). This shouldn't take that long, perhaps about an hour.

Retire your 'Holiday Man' manager.

Add a new manager, the options are up to you but 'past experience' must be set to 'automatic'. I understand that choosing your nationality may have an effect later on, but I trust people will be sensible with this, I would expect people to use their own nationalities.

Take over one of the new clubs promoted to the Conference North or South, if you are not sure about which clubs have been promoted, these are the original league tables: Conf N Conf S, just make sure the club is not listed here. To make completely sure that the club is eligible, check the club's history of league positions, it should be blank like this. There should be six new clubs in total in the Conference North/South.

It is completely up to you which club you choose, although please appreciate that some clubs may be easier to manage than others (eg. AFC Wimbledon, since they have a full squad of players and staff).

It is now up to you to manage this club all the way to the Premiership and UEFA Champions League crown.

You may not move clubs unless you are sacked.

If you get sacked, you can either take over a newly promoted club that satisfies the original criteria (check the club's league history), or just start again.

Any form of international management is not allowed, until you have completed the challenge.

There are no restictions on assigning feeder/parent clubs, and you may sign any players you like (although I would expect people to be only signing the players for whom they could request a scout report).

No external utilities such as FMScout should be used and the database should be uneditied. Should SI release a data update, this would be allowed. It is advised that people should update using the latest patches as they are released.

I couldn't even get through 3 seasons in my previous dynasty, did I, so I don't see me ever completing this either.

Well I tried to move the Chinese teams into the Indian league, and all that happens is the game crashes. So I must have done something wrong, but after following the step-by-step guide I can't see why it went wrong.

I'm pretty angry and exasperated tbh.

Delete and re-install the game

Make sure that you dont forget to do this

Maybe this will do the trick

Thanks, but I can get it to run with any of the other leagues, but it won't loadup on the "new" Chinese league.

Maybe because you corrupted the db. Thats why I suggested that you delete the game and reload it with a clean db. Couldnt hurt.

No, I must have made an error somewhere. I think I'll just change all the teams back, and forget about it.

Why not try to figure out what went wrong? That would be a fun project in and of itself.

I've just set the league to "Full detail" and now it loads up fine.

Oh well it works now, although I won't ever play the league, I might use it in a future sim world.

Full detail takes forever to sim.

I'd like to see you give the 07 challenge a shot. It should keep any jaded FM fan on the end of their seat.

Well I don't know what the reason why it will work in "full detail" and none other. I'll probably just uninstall the game and give up.
