Game shuts down when trying to create historical league in OOTP3

When I try to create a historical league in OOTP 3, the whole game shuts down and returns me to windows.

Sometimes, it will begin to import the players, but after 5-10 players, the game just closes. I've got the 3.2 patch.

I downloaded the 4.5 comma delimited database from the Lahman site. I'm pointed to the correct folder because it begins to import players sometimes.

Windows ME
1.18 GB free

Any help would be appreciated. I'm planning on getting OOTP5 when it is released, but for now, I'd like to play an historical season on OOTP3.

It has been so long since I've played v3, will the 4.5 DB even work with it? Have you tried an older version, like 4.0 to see if that will work?

Nope, haven't tried that yet. I tried 4.5 initially because (a) it is not the most recent version and (b) I was under the impression that it would work with v3.

I'll try it and see.

I tried 3.0, and it didn't work. Also, there is no 4.0 version available in comma delimited format, so I couldn't try that.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Version 3.0 and 4.0 of the Lahman Database will work with OOTP3. You must make sure you specify the correct version on the import option.

Lahman 5.0 is actually the most recent version.

I'll try 4.0, but 4.5 and 3.0 shut down the game. Still haven't figured out why.

If OOTP5 would just hurry and be released, I'd just go ahead and buy it and quit fooling with OOTP3!
