Team Comparisons

(This probably will come out like crap)

Here is a team comparison that shows the number points gained per weight class as a percentage of the team's point total.

It may be useful info to consider for the upcoming draft. It clearly marks which division is strongest and weakest per team

If anyone has any ideas on how to paste an .xls sheet into a post, please let me know. I had to print out my .xls sheet, scan it inot HP Photosmart and then crop/resize it to fit under the 100kb limit.

IMO there seems to be 2 schools of thought regarding the teams at or near the cap now:

1. Sign a high rated fighter and then clear out a couple of mid-range guys to make up the cap space - welcoming a couple of 1 or 2 rated TC's onto your team ...

or

2. Make a modest improvement by dumping an underperforming 7,8,9 fighter and replacing him w/ a slightly better one. Counterbalance the cap by looking for value in the lower 4,5,6 range and hope that you don't lose to much with the lower rated guy.

I seem to prefer to have some sort of balance among the weight classes and hope to get at least 1 guy per weight class into the EOY tournaments. (Obviously, my team is not steamrolling towards the end of the season - 0-2 the last two rounds, so what the hell do I know)
I'm going with the first approach as I plan to abandon the MW division and fill in a couple of others. MW is just to tough and it's getting tougher and Pender isn't worth the cap hit to me right now. Plus, he doesn't fit the style of team I want. So I'll throw this out anyone who wants a almost prime Middleweight hit me up and we can get a trade done, I'm looking to move up in the draft to make sure I land one of my targets so we can swap picks.

Thanks, Romultiltus thats a really useful chart and it also confirms what I was thinking. Well, I got my plan of attack set now I'm ready to get though this last round, the playoffs, and the individual tournments to get to the draft.

Somewhere the 16th seed is doing backflips of joy since his chances of advancing just went way up. Congrats Bear heck of a way to end the season. Man, it's like the Gatitos just flatout quit a few rounds ago.

Thanks
I may have set a record for most wins by an expansion franchise that may hold up. Getting everyone to pre-prime helped. I'm now in the position all of you wer in going into the first draft. Cap space and holes to fill.

Bear
I won't be shocked if your record does hold up considering the disadvantages you faced are going to be worse for the next series of teams as the originals have fighters already going Prime and you and KC are going to pick up some major talent in this upcoming draft. You know all things consider both expansion teams had pretty good seasons with you winning two in a row and KC picking up a couple of individual champions.

I know we never formerly discussed this as a group but this was my intentions if any tie should occur. (we're going to have some ties this time around)
9) Ties:
Any tie for waiver rank, drafting order or seeding a team in the playoffs will be determined as follows:
1st tie-breaker......Total team Wins
2nd tie-breaker.....Total team Draws
3rd tie-breaker......Total team KOs scored
4th tie-breaker......flip of a coin
These tie-breakers will be used to determine which team is ranked higher.

Any tie for a divisional championship, we will have a box-off (team match) between the two teams that are tied.

If everbody is cool with this, I'll put it in the rules. If anybody wants to change this, let's do it now.

Those are cool, god I hope that one day we can actually use the coin flip that would be great. So we're going to have some draws huh so I take it that the Haymakers blasted Iceteaboxing by 49.

Ha, you know if that actually happen I would be kind of torn cause on one hand I'd be pissed that I'm out of the playoffs but on the other that would just be an amazing comeback so I couldn't really hate on it.

How do you go from losing to the Bears to beating the defending Champions. If only Tile Hill had been able to win last week they'd probably be in the playoffs right now.

The Breavers are probably the scariest team in the playoffs right now just because you never know which version you're going to face. Is it going to be the defending champions who have victories over Tomato City, Tile Hill, and Us or the version thats lose four matches this year. Never know from week to week with these guys. Hopefully, the South Division winner takes the third seed so I can face off against them.

Seems like the Beavers are limping into the playoffs this year
